One of the iconic spot with historical significance in Lucknow. It's well known for movie shooting and photography. Architecture was fantastic and well maintained till now. But there was a lot of traffic. Though you don't have to wait a long time.

One of the best spot with historical significance in Lucknow. Architecture was fantastic and well maintained till now. The place is well maintained now, with flowers blossoming across the garden, nice walking tracks and green cover of grass. It mingles well with the set of Rumi Gate which just besides it.
There are ample space in the park so if you are going with kids, you will have a lot of open space for them to play.

Beauty ❤of lucknow. Oldest historical place with Amazing infrastructure. Great and calm place to hangouts. You can visit here fro free with your family and friends. The best part is it's adjacent to rose🌹garden where u can visit free with calm and beautiful environment. It is adjacent to the Asafi Imambara, Teele Wali Masjid in Lucknow and has become a logo for the city of Lucknow. It used to mark the entrance to Old Lucknow City, but as the City of Nawabs grew and expanded, it was later used as an entrance to a palace which was later demolished by the British Raj following the Indian Mutiny. Rumi refers to Rûm, the historical name used by the Islamic world to denote the region roughly corresponding to Anatolia, or the dominion of the former Eastern Roman Empire. Therefore, "Rumi Darwaza" in Hindustani literally translates to "Turkish Gate" in English. Many beautiful places are also adjacent to this place. Many movies and tv serials are shooted there. You will found many foriegners and tourists visiting from different countries also.

This is a historical place of Lucknow. Usually you will able to see lot of traffic here. If you want to see this place without traffic or less traffic so try to visit in the morning before 7am. In the evening around this place you will see lot of local food vendors, their food is amazing. You can try local food available here.

Rumi Darwaza in Lucknow is great place to visit. When you make your way to Bara Imambara, stop for at least a few minutes at Rumi Darwaza. It is one of the finest pieces of architecture in the city of Lucknow. It is believed to be identical to a structure that once stood in the city of Constantinople in Turkey during the ancient times. Thus, the 60 feet tall structure is also often referred to as Turkish Gate.

In the olden days, it marked as the entrance to the Old Lucknow city, but today it stands as the symbol of the city. It is one of the many structures that were built by Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula during the famine of the late 18th century to help the locals. If you want to capture the best sights of this giant structure, then visit during the night when it looks absolutely gorgeous.

Beautiful place, a 60ft tall door very much intact. Must visit for lucknow.
One tip for making it better, try visiting it early morning around 6-7 to view the sunrise and no crowd so you will get to enjoy it to the fullest. Ample Parking space ,can take your car.

This gate is famously known as Rumi darwarza in Lucknow. Usually, a lot of traffic is there, it is a tourists spot. Can be one of the best heritage gate.
But it need to be maintained and look after well for the coming generations.
