Chauburji Agra

Situated across the river Yamuna in the neighbourhood of the tomb of Itimad-ud-Daula, it is a temporary burial place of the emperor Babur, whose mortal remains were taken to Kabul for burial. During the British Period, the Britishers used this place as their residence. Some of the architectural features i.e. square plan, raised platform along with water pools, shapes of the arches, attached towers and decorative motifs on the red sandstone shows that it is somehow mirror image of Itimad-ud-Daula's Tomb, Agra.
