Palace is small but royal, its campus was huge and still boundary is present but now residential buildings of local people have encroached, gardens with mango and other old really old trees. Present descendants of king stay there if visitor take permission they can allow to visit inside. But nearby constructed temples are majestic and river Ib is soothingly cool.

There are three Palaces in Sundargarh built in a very close proximity. The oldest building is in a ruined condition and the 2nd one is used as the residence of the royal family members.
18th king Raghunath Sekhar in 1907 started the construction work of this new Palace. The constriction was completed in 1912.
Best time to visit is during Durga Puja.
You will love the atmosphere and Sambalpuri music.
