Wagh Darwaja

Wagh Darwaja (Tiger Gate) is another entrace or escape gate to Fort Raigad...It takes Tigers Courage to descend from here hence it is known as Tiger Gate....To reach the Wagh Darwaja we need to take the pathway going downward from the 'Kushawart Tank'...Within 15-20 minutes of steep walk we reach the Wagh Darwaja...To descend the fort from here is almost impossible without the proper rappeling equipments....Yet few of the great trekkers have done descending from here without any equipments....and so the ascending....We can see the 'Potlya Mountain' from here very clear as it is in front of this gate....

Chatrapati shivaji maharaj built this gate very thoughtfully, and also it's used for escape from by raje,
Very important place in history.

Mainally it is to beautiful in monsoon season to visit here,
Lots of people not knowledge about this place so they miss this place in visit of kille raigarh ,

There is a steep descent to get to this place. Not many people visit this place. It is a quite place even when there is rush on the rest of the fort.

Very few people come here. There are two ways to come here one from holicha mal other from 12 taki. From holicha mal wadeshwar mandir is easy. From 12 taki way is slippery to climb down.

The place is located at the boundary of Kille Raigad and has a steep slope which makes it difficult for any person to go beyond the arch i.e the Wagh Darwaja. A nice place to visit for having a view over the scenic beauty of Sahyadri hills. Presence of a water fall on the other side of the Wagh Darwaja enhances it's beauty during rainy days
