It’s an old fort made by Yadav King. It’s huge fort and boundary surrounds many kilometres, can be seen from a distance. Trek is of medium difficult takes around 1.30-2 hours to reach the top. They have taken good measures to maintain cleanliness so they mark your water bottle so you don’t throw it anywhere. Good experience

Absolutely fantastic piece of Architecture and a must visit historical landmark for everyone visiting Aurangabad.

I had a wonderful time here during my recent solo motorcycle ride.

I roamed around and explored the fort.

There are lots of food and drink options also available just opposite the main gate.

The parking facilities are also well.

100% recommended.

Must visit place. Don't miss it. Hire a guide to understand.

Seven walls, doors of defence. Misleading fort entrances, bridge over moat etc are unique to this fort.

ASI is maintaining the place and they must make the trek to the top easier. Only then more tourists will enjoy.

A magnificent structure built in 1187. You will love it. 700 steep climbing will take you to 200m height above sea level. And you will enjoy the amazing view above the Fort. Plastic Water Bottles are allowed with Security deposit and 20 rupees per bottle.

Very well kept relic of the era which is part of the history of Maharashtra.

I agree, with time the restoration is not great but compared to other forts of that time, this surely is well maintained.

Trek wise, its moderate level, elders and kids be little care during the start.

It’s was built to be an impregnable fort full of clever structural tricks. One should hire a guide to identify the specialities of the construction. The rich history of this fort is sure to enchant many. One might trek to the mountain top too. A newly opened museum inside showcases ancient sculptures from nearby. Beautiful place with monkeys. So be aware. Beautiful place specially during or after monsoon season. Less crowds during monsoon.
Recommend going to the top to see the magnificent views.
There is a big devi temple that should be visited in the premises.
I recommend giving it time to reach the top and not do it half way

Really nice view from the top of fort. Worthy climbing steps. Clean and tidy. Parking and food item shops are available outside. If you want to do quick shop then there are lot of shops selling indian handicrafts

Daulatabad fort is a wonderful piece of history. A must visit.
The architecture is amazing. The more you understand the nuances, the more you marvel at the thought behind the build. If you are in Aurangabad then you cannot to afford to miss this one.
It might not be as glorious sounding as its other counterparts from far older history, but it nevertheless merits a visit !
