Delhi Gate is one of the important monument in the City of Aurangabad protected by State Archeological Department.
Medieval Aurangabad was fortified city having various gates opening towards all the directions. There are gates of other establishments too. Delhi Gate is the northern gate and as the capital city of Mughal Empire was Delhi, the gate is named as "Delhi Darwaja" which is close to the royal abode of Emperor Aurangzeb's Quil-e-Ark.

Monument is still in good condition and open for visit and a must see location for tourists.

DELHI DARWAZA One of the best in condition gates in Aurangabad and still shining because being maintained by some private organizations as our Municipal corporation is full of thieves and dacoits. Gate is beautiful and stands tall even after negligence of local authorities. It is one of the 52 gates built to guard AURANGABAD during MUGHAL era.

Amazing architecture, listen from residents that it has 15 room in that massive structure which were used as guest House or guest rooms, this rooms was built specially for guests coming from Hyderabad. However now a days they are not allowing people to visit inside this gate...but over all very beautifully built structure of ancient time...

Aurangabad is city of Gates. It is said to have 52 gates. Delhi gate is the gate which faces North towards Delhi. It is a huge gate with imposing doors. The wooden door is almost a foot thick. With 100 Elephant nails on each door. Rarely any tourists actually come in to see the gate, so you can see see the gate peacefully at leisure. Entry into the upper areas is locked. It is said to have cannons in each side. No fees to inspect the gate.
Nearby tourist place is Museum.

Great historical place. Most beautiful and huge gate of all gates of Aurangabad. It's name because it faces towards Delhi, was built during Mughal era, has been renovated and we'll maintained. It's a part of various gates which were at the periphery of the city Aurangabad.
