One of the best attraction points near Ratnagiri. Fort does not have too many stairs hence easily accessible. Make sure to carry your own vehicle. Auto drivers asking for 100 rs from city or towards city which is all the way higher. Some of very spectacular views of the sea can be seen from fort. Parking is available at entrance. Fort is too much big but you can view some portion at a glance. Take a round around first footpath. You will be amazed. Some Jetty's can be seen from fort. Also thereby one or two shops for snacks and colddrink at entrance. One can visit in morning for best experience. Fort closes in evening at say 7 pm. If you want to feel real taste of nature you should visit.

Light House is open only between 4 to 5 pm, however when we reached there it was closed due to maintenance! The gate was closed and it was a tough time to reverse the car with very small approach road. Auto rickshaw is recommended to visit the light House.

This site is worth visiting. The area around the fort is so well maintained, clean and serene. Full greens because of rains. You can easily climb up the area, not at all steep- i climbed with heels on, though not advisable. In evenings you can sit there for long. No pollution, no hawkers, no shops, no rush. Enjoy the breeze and greens around. There is a way to climb down towards the water too. I didnt personally try it but saw a group down walking towards the cave like structure. Fisherman are seen walking away with loads of fishes...pics clicked here are worth watching again n again. Just 1 view- ocean.

Great place to visit. You will be able to see the coastal line here.
Also a greta place to view the sunset but we had visited here during the monsoon.
There is no entrance fee and you can get your car tillt he entrance of the fort. There is lot to walk, so I wasnt able to completely see the fort.
There is a temple there which you can visit.

Amazing scenic view, well maintained fort, their are trees planted in and out of the fort which holds soil and that was one of the reason that every corner of this fort is intact. No damages observe. Sea shore on two sides which includes jetty view.

This place is around 3km far from Ratnagiri city. Entry free. There is temple as you enter the fort. As you walk on the fort wall you can see many beautiful view points. The view points are amazing. Never miss out to visit this place when you visit Ratnagiri..

Wonderful place. This place has a great history. Fort was used to keep an eye enemies coming from sea route.

This fort has multiple watch points from where you can enjoy sea infinitely.

Cleanliness: 2/5
Tourist attraction: 2/5
Views from fort: 5/5
Fort structure: 4/5

Road to reach the fort is not maintained. Looks like tourism is not being promoted in Ratnagiri.

Its a nicely made fort in Ratnagiri. There is Bhagwati Temple on the fort. I did not see much inside the fort, but a walk on the fort wall was quite an experience. On almost 3 sides you will see open sea and amazing sky. Lot of opportunities to click some amazing shots if you are a shutterbug.
We ended up walking the entire wall and spent some good 45 minutes doing so. Otherwise its a 20 odd minutes destination.
