Murud-Janjira Fort

A marvel indeed in todays time. The entire experience is worth having at least once in a lifetime. Right from switching from a ferry to an oar boat with 60+ people on it flaunting every safety aspect, to jumping from a rocking oar boat into the fort and hoping you don’t slip or fall into the sea. The insides of the fort is well maintained and it’s amazing to see fresh water ponds inside the fort which is located right in the middle of a salt water sea. Overall an experience that will definitely get your adrenaline rushing.

This fort is a must visit if you are on the Konkan Trip, such magnificent architectural wonder in the midst of the sea and it kind of tells you a story why it was never won by any king. You need to reach there by boat costing about 80 Rs per person but the time given by boatmen to visit the fort is not enough, that's one downside.

While looking from the outside this fort looks quite impressive, but once you step inside there isn't much to explore as there are only ruins which are not well maintained at all, given the fact that they charge us an entry fee while entering this place, which is not included in the ferry ticket. During the weekends this place is pretty crowded and the waiting period takes upto 1-2 hours or more. So please bring a cap and sunglasses, because you'll have to wait in the boat under the sun during weekends.

It was amazing experience wandering in 200 years invincible fort , much impressed with construction technology used in this fort. I wish I were go to time machine and minutely watch the activities performed by then residents here. One should go there to feel proud our ancestors

Had awesome experience. But you have to wait for your turn to get the boat ride to reach the fort. Waiting period is about half hour to one hour. Boating staff is very cooperative. They take care of each person in the boat. Old age people too can have the experience. Not to worry about anything from getting into boat and dropping by the fort. Do not use leather shoes as you make contact to water when you have to get down at the fort. Fort is awesome. Depends on individual thinking and likes about the location. I like visiting historical places which reminds us our history.

Amazing fort, but you need 4 to 5 hours to visit all points. We need to go there by boat. The Boat tickets available till 4.30 PM. The Boat Ticket price ₹ 80 to ₹ 100.
Entry fee at in the fort : ₹ 25
But it's no well maintain, Government would have maintained it.

View is awsome.. Ride the sail boat if u want to see the fort from inside, even the view from the top point of fort is superb

Honestly, I did not visit this fort from inside because it didn't seem much of interesting.
Also, they charge a lot Rs 40 for to and fro journey to fort. Rs 25 to visit fort from inside.
Also, Rs 400 when you enter their premises.
Plan accordingly, if you are really find of historical places you can give it a try.
