Good Historic place....
Very disappointed to see that very few structure is left and no renewation attempted even after being in the city area...
Ideal to take your kids...
Bike would be better to avoid parking issue....

Historically important fort.
Good place to visit at least once and easily accessible. Trails on top could be marked better also directional/fort map information would help. Nicely maintained Mangalai temple.
Very close to city and nice views from the top. Not very crowded on weekend as well and so not many vendors around to mess the place.

Quite a good place for sunset. Indeed one can see the beautiful satara city from the top. Many locals come here for hikes and those aspirants comes for physical exercise. There is not entry ticket anywhere and the fort is really good. The people here maintain the place and make sure to keep it free from any nuisance.
Indeed a beautiful sunset spot. Must visit if one is planning to visit the city. Also yes the roads are okay and till the top it's more of kuccha road, so better take good vehicle

Currently very dry. And the read to the top is in a terrible condition. However the view from top is beautiful. There are no shops around on this fort. A couple of temples and a lake on top. It's a decent climb. This fort was mostly used as a prison on various occasions. It is quite at the city centre of Satara

Great place to trek and watch the sunset and soak beautiful view of the city from the top. The old main wooden door still exists which serves as a reminder of great history. As the fort is on the top of the hill, it's a great wall uphill and hence you will see many using it for their healthy walk. For someone who prefers to be there without a sweat, the car takes you right at the entrance, however, the road last 1 km is in very bad shape and not for sedans or hatchbacks. So you can park where the road gets worse and then walk rest of the path. Some walls are still intact and there are a couple of temples on the top.
Definitely worth visit if you are in the city to watch the sunset and the surrounding view.

The fort is located at Ajikyatara moutain which is 3300 feet high . The fort is near Sarara . Vehicles can easily arrive at the entrance gate and from there it is a walk . There is temple of Goddess at the further end of entrance . The fort provides a spectacular view of entire Satara City . The fort is great tourist attraction as well. This is the same fort where Maharani Tarabai was imprisoned . The best time to visit the fort is during winter .

not more than 30-40 mins hike from the base.. there is also a tar road till the top, but upper half is obviously not in good condition.. fort is well maintained.. the entrance from South is not to miss.. most of Satara can be viewed from the top..
