Mayiladuturai Junction

Nice place. Just outside of the railway station you can get auto, vehicle and buses for various places. Near by hotels and good foods are available here.

One of the largest railway junction in tamilnadu. Provided with large parking area. Licated very near by main road. Local buses are available to cinnect railway statiin and bus stands. Trains to Chennai, Trichy, Rameswaram, Mysore, etc., are available from here. Maintenance of platdrom and sourrending area is good. Shops are available near by to have meals.

There are a few drawbacks. The first being the connecting roads, which are next to worst. It is a bit distant from the Bus Station or bus stand. The positives are, it has a good parking facility. In the recent past, the interior facilities have seen a lot of improvement. It has been an important junction.

It is one of the main station s on thanjavur to Chennai rail root. Located in between kumbakonam and Chidambaram. Almost all trains on Chennai root stops here. There are options for quick refreshments. It is junction as a few trains starts from here and halt. It is famous tourist destination too as near by is Historical sea port pumpuhar.
