Vizhinjam Lighthouse (Kovalam Lighthouse) വിഴിഞ്ഞം ലൈറ്റ് ഹൗസ്

It was a beautiful experience. One could use the tile-paved stairs or the newly installed lifts, to go up. Though the aesthetic beauty of inside the lighthouse has been diminished by the lifts, the ravishing beauty of the outside view is untouched 😍. The cool breeze once we reach the top and the mesmerizing 360 degree views, would take anyone's breath away. The ticket price for an adult is 20 rs, and an extra 10 rs is charged for keeping the footwear and/or bags, which is a compulsory thing (you can't wear footwear inside the lighthouse).

Nice light house, sunset and sea seeing light house.The lighthouse, which is now equipped with modern technology, is under the control of the Central Government. Light flashing is done here using a metal allied lighting system and an optical lens. The world famous Kovalam beaches such as Lighthouse Beach, Eve Beach and Samudra Beach are located close to the lighthouse. This is a place where you can watch the waves of the sea and the sunrises.

It was a lovely experience to visit the Kovalam light house. They provide elevator a well as stairs to reach the top. But there are a few stairs that one has to take without fail inorder to reach the top. Once you reach the top it's a wonderful experience to experience and witness the cold breeze, the sky, the beach, beautiful sun and what not! 😍 It's just that it was a little too crowded (maybe because it was a weekend) but still the experience was great. This is a must go to place if you're in Trivandrum.

An amazing experience at the lighthouse, both from ground and from the top of it. You get an amazing 360 view of the coastline from the top balcony of the lighthouse.

There is an elevator available to go to the top, but I would suggest that if anyone os able to, take the stairs. It will be a workout, but the experience will be amazing.

Another thing is, you will have ro enter the lighthouse barefoot, so wear a shoe that is easy to take off, if you visit.

Also, there is a children's park and a food court in the compound, for anyone looking to spend some time here, and I would recommend spending some time at this place.

The view from here is gorgeous. Very good experience except for the heavy crowd there. Had a good parking space also. The cost of ticket is Rs 20 for adults and Rs 10 for children below 12 yrs. Parking for two wheelers are 10 and parking for four wheelers and autos are 20.

A must visit if you are in Kovalam. The sunset view from the light house is memorable. The view from the top is really worth it. There are stairs and lift facilities to reach the top. At 5.30 pm they will stop giving entry tickets. You have to keep your baggage and footwear at the space provided and they charge a nominal fee for keeping your belongings safely. There are two timings for the visit viz, morning and evening. 20 rs is the entry fee and parking and video graphy charges are extra.
