Its a calm, quiet and beautiful place. If you are a nature lover then you will surely like this. And if are willing to walk around this Island, there are more beautiful sceneries.
The most highlighting thing in this Island is the boat rinding around the lake and the sunset view. If you are a nature lover or a photographer then you must visit this place. Make sure you are visiting this place in a sunny day, because rain can ruin your entire trip in this Island.

It is an awesome spot for nature lovers and environmentalists... The forest cover is so inspiring and the cool breeze stabilizers the atmosphere even in the extreme weather conditions.. The native folks are innocent and makes it a peaceful place for living...

A calm and quiet place..It is a small island share you could visit one of the best Sunset ever in Kerala.. To be at Kakkathuruth for Sunset is considered as one the best destination in the world by National Geographic's Travel Magazine. Just go there z enjoy the village walk , canoe ride and the sunset.

A wonderful place with its own lush green surrounding , surrounded by full water. To reach the place we have to take a small boat to the island and guess what rest is all magical.

Kakkathuruthu

Kakkathuruthu, a tiny island in Kerala’s backwaters, has been listed in National Geographic’ s ‘Around the World in 24 Hours,’ a photographic tour of travel-worthy spots in the world.

Visit Kakkathuruthu village and Kaithapuzha Lake and must say that it is such a blissful location and absolutely serene. Visit the beautiful islands and watch the village life. Had loads of fun with activities like fishing, kayaking, pedal boating and shikara boating for hours in Kaithapuzha Lake which is surrounded by palm fringe , coconut trees and greenery all around. The place is like a small piece of heaven on earth. Winded up the noon Lunch with some spicy crab dishes, fish fry and prawns roast in a lake side food court and the food is just awesome and sumptuous. Entire evening spent on the pristine backwater and cruising with Tea and Banana fritters. Watch the beautiful sunset during boat ride.

A small and scenic island.
* You should take small boats to reach there.
* Friendly peoples and family there. All most near to 90 families in the island.
They were so friendly with us, gave us food.
* Small shops there. The shop is near to the boat jetty. Evening tea and snacks are good.
* The place is beautiful for us, but when asking them they will say that it's really difficult to live there. ( If emergency happen they should take the boat to get to the town, and also drinking water problem).

Nothing much to see. Sunset is the only attraction. The place is quite underdeveloped and will be a great location for tourist spot, if managed properly.
