Dark Forest Retreat Amboli

If there's anything called a perfect stay, a perfect holiday home, this is it. We visited in early August, in peak monsoon this year, had booked a cottage. It is amazing the kind of caring attitude these guys have towards their guests, even amidst the extreme weather conditions of the season. Speaking from first hand experience, anything you might need or wish for is taken care of. Rooms are great, food is great, resort is great, staff is great. It's a beautiful resort. Three cheers for the owners and the management. If you are going to Amboli, no doubt this is the best place to stay.

It’s very beautiful and staff is good ,all facilities available.

Overall during the right season this is one of the best places to relax/get away from it all in Amboli.

Loved the amazing chicken Malvani at the in-house restaurant,all I remember is I loved it and those hand cut French fries they made .

It’s a self contained resort ,hope since my trip there they have improved on the power backup system.

Nestled in a beautiful environment with jaw dropping scenic spots all around and close to one the most picturesque amboli waterfall, this place has everything which a monsoon , fog and mist lovers would want. Absolute to its name , the road trench diverts from the main path and takes you through a dense and quiet forest and if you are lucky and in the right season that is just after the rains then u can have the misty darkness covering your windshields which appears scary for a short time till u start imbibing its dose in your veins. Adventurist would love it and romantic people have all the right spots to barbecue and campfire and a nice jolly trekk. Now to the staff and the facility. Staff is very hospitable and humble and greets you always with a smile. On top, the sumptuous food served in it's sort of mini-mess dinning area, with wild life pictures all around , gives you a feeling of being served in an actual forest arena In the middle of wilderness.Rooms although are quite comfy, catering to the feel of the place. But I would recommend a little better on its interiors, like better mattresses, linens, and the fragrance inside the room should be little of fresh kind , which I though was kind of damp and a bit smelly. Could be due to the damp environment around. But a little care would enhance the experience all around.Good stay and recommended..

We stayed for two nights and the experience was awesome. Irrespective of the weather they deliver the food to our rooms. And they made our stay comfortable. We booked luxury rooms and everything was excellebt. If there was a room heater it would've been helpful. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay and planned to visit again.

Room was not worth the price. Have stayed in much better rooms at same price. Had booked this place as I couldn't find a better place nearby with better reviews online. But was not happy with the room quality.

We did have issues with the quality / cleanliness of water in thermos served for green tea which was sent back twice in a row. Only good thing was that the restaurant staff tried to correct it and personally came to the room to accept the mistake and apologise with a replacement. This shows that the staff is interested in serving better.

This retreat has a good potential, but not is not ready yet.

The location is situated in a remote area that still feels safe. The rooms are awesome. Services are very fast. Their kitchen is also good. You can enjoy your own time here. The location is just before the ghat section.

Beautiful property, good location, diligent staff, well maintained.

Entire build up is done thoughtfully, no compromises evident.

Complimentary Breakfast was pretty good, although dinner we had bad experience WRT taste of almost all dishes. I appreciate the readiness of staff to rectify the mistakes brought to their notice.

This is the best resort in Amboli as of now. The rooms are well designed, comfortable and clean. The food is nice. Ask for mutton dishes which were very delicious. Cycling, volley ball, swimming and trekking are the only activities available. Sunrise and sunset views are absolutely amazing from the resort. Overall, would recommend this place for a big family get together or even for a quick overnight stay...Totally worth it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
