Hotel Seven Seventeen

The hotel location is good, however the surroundings are not so pleasant. Chowk bazar is very near. Taxi stand/Mall road is 5-10mins of walking. We have booked a total of 6 dbl dlx non-view rooms. The rooms are quite specious,but these rooms need maintenance especially the door locks and bathroom taps.
The staff are extremely polite and cooperative. The food from the in-house restaurant was really tasty and portion was good too.
They do not change bed sheets.However on request they changed our towels. We enjoyed our stay here.

Hotel is located in a narrow and congested alleyway. We were alloted rooms at 4th floor in spite of repeated requests for lower floor rooms. No lift facility. Stairs were very high and steep to climb. Water was dripping from bathroom celling on me when sitting for potty. Very annoying. Kanchenjungha view was obstructed by trees and buildings at a distance. Mall is 15 minutes away but very steep climb. Chakbazar is 50 stairs bellow the hotel. Food was very costly and the restaurant cum bar gives an uneasy feeling when with family. This hotel is strictly not recommended for elderly persons if alloted higher floor rooms.Stairs, Restaurant cum bar.

the hotel rooms were awesome and the staff behaviour was great as well...also the food i was served was tasty and was within the affordable range. the view from my room was great as well... the overall experience was awesome and i would love to visit again.

I took 4th floor suite room for 3 nights. Room decoration is awesome having Tibetan design on walls and ceiling. balcony has mountain view. but you can see kanchenjunga from corner. overall good. 10 mins far from mall market. need to climb up. Hotel did not clean the room and bathroom. so bathroom became dirty and unhygienic. reminded reception lady on 2nd day. they gave justification that after every day checked out room, then occupied rooms will be cleaned. but no body came finally. so it's clear that they are more interested on new booking and not on existing guests.

Good views from the rooms. Well maintained and clean rooms. Rooms on the top floors are hard to reach for elders. The wooden rooms of top floors are not sound proof, conversation or music in the neighbouring room may disturb your sleep. The food quality of the restaurant is good but the service is very slow and the price is a little higher.

It's just okay. The staff is accomodating. The restaurant staff is very good. We had vegetarian food it was hot and delicious during cold December. They have good provisions for hot drinking water.
The hotel does not have an elevator so climbing to the 5th floor is difficult especially when you are tired. The road to the hotel is congested with poor parking space. Non-existent wifi connection on the 5th floor.

I am a traveller from Bangladesh and this is the hotel i have stayed on my first night in Darjeeling.
I originally booked at Hotel North Star, beside this hotel but they were not able to give me a room there and gave a room here as this is also their property.
The room was very nice, cozy and traditionally decorated. The room itself and the toilet was very neat and clean. The lobby and the stairs decorations fascinated me the most. It's a very quiet and safe hotel for family tours.
The hotel staff were also very polite, specifically the manager "Hari Adab". A hotel is only as good as its manager. Hariji made our stay very comfortable with easy availability, helpfulness and polite behavior. He also arranged the touring transportation facilities for us. My stay here has been very delightful mainly due to the hospitality of the staff and the manager besides the room.
The only thing i have to complain about is the location. It's a bit far from mall and the roads leading upto the mall will prove to be quite difficult to elderly people. There is also a disgusting dustbin right in front of the hotel. Removing it should make the stay more enjoyable.

Good hotel with all the facilities like service, 24/7 hot water etc.The food was good. The behaviour of staff members is also good. So, as per my stay and comfort I will recommend this hotel to my family and friends.
