Hotel Southern Comfort

Southern Discomfort, I would have given a 0 star if possible. There were small cockroaches and insects everywhere. The taps and shower heads were rusted and dirty. When we came to the hotel room toilet it smelt nasty. For 5500Rs just for the cheapest room this was a terrible hotel. I highly recommend not to choose this hotel. The only benefit of this hotel is that it is close to airport, and just the airport shuttle costed 400Rs which was absurd. The food choice were limited in the buffet. When we came to this hotel last year it was ok, but this year it was filthy. Please do not choose this hotel it is absolutely horrible.

Hotel is located close to the airport which makes it a good place for business travel. Rooms are smaller & the restaurant has good options for non-vegetarians but very less options if you are a vegetarian.

Service & lifts are all good. Okay for a 1/2 days stay if being close to the airport helps you.

This hotel should be really rated 2 star though marketed as 3 star.
The carpet really needs to be replaced immediately and the bathroom fittings look old and also need to be replaced.
The attraction is the location as it's close to the airport and 2 minutes walk to the metro.
The restaurant was pretty decent though be aware that it is chettinadu spicy.
Breakfast was thoroughly enjoyable

Stayed in this hotel for 1 night in between two flights, the advantage of this hotel is the location. It is located very near to the Chennai airport. The room is spacious, the service provided by the hotel is nice. The food provided by the restaurant below the hotel is good.
Do prefer this hotel if you're looking for a good comfy stay near the airport.

After staying at the hotel for one night, I would never come back here just because it is closer to the airport. Chennai has good connectivity from OMR, or even Tambaram.
The service here is incredibly slow, the food at the restraints is not good. The complimentary breakfast is always empty and they never refill. I was there at 8.30 am and there was just staff managing breakfast. Above all there is no hot water in room. So good luck staying here. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Hotel is really nearby airport and has great connectivity. It's on road. Service was great. Attendants are nice and polite. I got an executive room booked but I was expecting an upgrade as I had requested with them on email. But to my disappointment there were no deluxe rooms available. Executive rooms are a little compact but fully equipped. Overall it's was a good experience as it was my first experience of hotels in Chennai.

Hardly any space in the rooms. Not at all hygienic. The toilets were unclean. The linen was unclean. We had to get those changed.
The bathrooms were a joke. Even the lift had more space than the bathroom. The shower area was so small that a person and bucket cannot be there together. So they removed the buckets from the bathrooms.
Impossible if you have a kid who needs to help to bathe.

The food was tasty however the hygiene was questionable. The service was slow, and unresponsive.
The cab to the airport was paid and not complimentary. The breakfast was decent.
The location was really close to the airport.
Still the airport drop was charged at Rs. 300/-. They have only "Hyundai Aura" as cab option. It does not have a carrier. Good thing is it is a petrol vehicle so at least the whole boot space is available (no CNG cylinder).

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Its better to book in the city and use Uber / Ola to go the Airport rather than using this option.

I have stayed here twice. First time the room was good, second time the door wouldn't lock and create and alarm everytime we go out, now trying to book for that third time as this is near airport. Nobody picks the call, no one is aware even after booking over the phone. Such a poor service from recurring customer.
