Hotel Alpine Continental Shillong

Apart from one girl at the reception, rest of the whole staff there are arrogant, specially the people at the restaurant namely Padmo, their attitude is like they are paying us to stay. Make sure to book room with a window , they have non window rooms too which is unbearable, and such rooms are in the basement of the hotel, i doubt if it is legal to even accomodate people that way without ventilation. The location of the hotel is good right at police bazar, but the attitude of the staff kills it.

According to the tourist place the tariff is normal but the rooms are not spacious....The location is good, you will get all kinds of local flavours nearby only.

Very bad. The room suffered severe seepage in walls with horrible smell inside the room that can only be tolerated for 10-15mins at max. I was denied service and for escalations the lady at reception said " i am the last point of contact and i cannot help you." Refrigerators were not working, no support on that front too. Food is pathetic. Reasonable price for the service provided by them should be around Rs. 1000 per night for a double or twin bed room. NOT recommended, AT ALL.

Some rooms are damp and smell very bad. Equipment such as refrigerators and lights are not working in some rooms. They conveniently blame storm for these things. Reception staff is friendly, but quickly becomes unhelpful when asking for a change of room or working equipment. Restaurant staff is helpful and friendly. Do not pay anything more than Rs. 5000 for these rooms.

Stayed for 3 nights. Polite staff. Nice ambience. Food taste need to be imported.

This hotel is located in Police Bazaar which is the main market. Restaurants, shopping etc is all nearby. Hotel is located on an uphill road where only 1 car can go at a time. Hotel has 3 levels basement and 4-5 levels above G floor.

We chose this hotel because it has Family rooms which have 2 double beds in 2 rooms, sold as 1 unit. So convenient for parents with kids who need seperate beds. However these rooms are located in basement with no windows.

Heater works well so we were comfortable. Rooms are decent. Breakfast is good though staff is always late at getting the same ready at 730 am.

Overall, good for the price at which they rent out rooms.

I don't like this hotel, because the GM didn't give to use there wash room... Because Im a driver

I like this place probably more than I should. There is construction going on the manager says will be completed in a couple months, enlarging the hotel. It has charm and quirkiness, and you can't beat the glass house restaurant and bar with a view over Shillong.
