Location is nice but Overpriced considering it is government property. Less costly rooms (didn't write economical because the basic semi deluxe room costs 5k+) are too small and smelly due to very old carpet. They may have not washed the carpets since a decade :D. Higher priced rooms are good. Super deluxe rooms have best view. The rooms at higher floors have good view. The food during dinner (Mushroom masala) was good. However, the breakfast was very bad. The service is below average and food is costly. They usually make mistakes in food bills so check before paying. Overall average stay but location is good because lift for the mall road is nearby.

luxury rooms and suites are the best ones. Rest all rooms are smaller in size with good view.

Hotel staff is very supportive. Good food when you have it at restaurant not room. In room there is less varieties available. Breakfast also has lots of varieties with great taste.

A well-located property of Himachal Tourism. It is close to Mall Road, and has ample parking space for guests. Rooms are quite average for the offered price. The restaurant and bar areas offer lovely ambiance with helpful staff members. The food quality is also good enough. Plus, they have a number of halls & open space areas for booking get-together parties & wedding functions.

Booked 3 rooms and stayed 4 nights, overpriced accommodations, jet pump in the toilet was not working, I called the house keeping to get that fixed, staff were not that responsive so I believe the service quality could have been better, and the hotel is located close to Mall road lift (Approx 10 mins walk away) you may encounter busy traffic quite so often. They charge extra for food for 7years+ kids (750 for dinner +350 for Breakfast excluding GST). Rooms were above average, there was no electricity due to transformer issue on 25th Dec, so we thought they would compensate but they refused.

Location is excellent . Reception area is ok. Restaurant is good. But, upkeep of the rooms needs attention.
A lot of new properties are being established by hptdc but not much attention is being paid to upkeep/upgradation of existing properties especially properties at prime locations (like Shimla). Kiari Ghat property has been newly built (at old location ) and is extremely good and well maintained, so far.
Let hptdc pay a bit more attention to Shimla (all properties) and other at prime locations (to start with) and improve decor, furniture , bathrooms etc of the rooms, as well.

Expensive for the middle class. The best thing is it is nearby the lift. They have parking. But they charge extra if you book 2 rooms and the rooms are just in front of each other and same size same things but still you have to pay extra. By saying that 1 room us delux and other is semi delux.

It's a great stay in hptdc holiday home. Great place for family. Nearby to mall road. 5 minz walk from the tourist lift that connects to the mall road. Breakfast is yummy. Hospitality is very good.

I have stayed in hptdc hotels. But now they have increased the room rates and food rate is sky high. Moreover they have levied room service charges @ 15%. Highly disappointing. People come here that it is government backed hotel but it is not worth now.
