The fort, therefore is believed to be 5500 years old, but history indicates that it was destroyed & rebuilt several times.
Raja Man Singh was also believed ti have constructed an observatory Jantar Mantar, there but it has since been destroyed.
For a fort of such provenance, it is overrun by monkeys and one has to risk the loss of spectacles, mobiles, handbags etc to visit the fort.
The entrance itself is in total shambles and very few risk going there.
Now there is ruins only. The structure reflects a beautiful Hindu architectural styles and destruction caused by Mughals.
This is because the fort passed through several hands during its journey. It is said that Raja Man Singh of Amber renovated the fort in the 16th century while Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh of Jaipur built an observatory there. However, there is no sign of the observatory now.
