Looking for peace of mind?????
This is the right destination for you.
A place of religious importance for all buudhism and jainism followers. It's a place where Lord Buddha spent 24 'Chaturmases' here.
It is situated in Shravasti district near Balrampur district in Uttar Pradesh. Shrawasti is one of the new districts of Uttar Pradesh separated out from the district Bahraich in May 1997.
There's a tree inside the sahet Maher campus which believed to be 2000 years old. It is also said the during his stay in sahet Maher, Lord Buddha asked his followers to bring the seeds from Gaya (A place in Bihar where Buddha got supreme Knowledge) and plant it in sahet maher (Shravasti).
The tree is still preserved with the help of long Iron bars.
It's a very popular place for tourists visiting India from the countries where Buddhism is followed.

The city has been identified with the twin villages of Saheth and Maheth, northwest of Balrampur. Today it is surrounded by a great rampart of earth and brick. Excavation has been undertaken by the Archaeological Survey of India, and remains of stupas, temples, and monasteries representing three main historical periods have been recognized.

Wonderful and peace full place
Best site for meditation
But sadly no direct route from big cities like Lucknow, since shrawasti from ancient time considered as a important but also have unisco verified historical monuments for which government must plan a metro project from Lucknow to direct shrawasti for connecting, which will not only help in developing the infrastructure of the shrawasti but also consume much less time and attract more tourist and hopefully, that will be much more efficient rather than comparing to present mean of roadways communication

Sahet-Mahet were villages in the ancient city of Sravasti. The city was the capital of the Kosala kingdom in the 6th century. Geographically, it was at the centre of eastern, western, and northern India whose roads met at a junction here. The site is of tremendous Buddhist and Jain significance. As you visit Sahet, you can explore the numerous stupas, temples and monasteries that establish a connection between Sravasti and the Buddha's life. Meanwhile, in Mahet you’ll find Buddhist, Brahmanical, Jaina structures as well as medieval tombs. Lord Buddha is said to have rested on this site during the annual Vassava.

It's one of the oldest historical place which can make your visit too much memorable for it's calm, noise free, clean & natural environment.
Please be careful for the cleanliness of this holy place while visiting the site.
I have posted the photos taken by me during my short visit in March 2021 with my younger brother Mr. Pawan Kumar (thanks alot to him for this visit).
