The Sanctuary houses ruined temples, forts, pavilions and a palace. Kankarwadi fort is located in the center of the Reserve and it is said that Mughal emperor Aurangzeb had imprisoned his brother Dara Shikoh at this fort in struggle for succession to the throne. Although entry to this fort is not allowed but one can enjoy the view of this magnificent fort by relating to the glorious history it has. The Reserve also houses a famous temple of lord Hanuman at Pandupole related to Pandavas which you can only visit on Tuesdays and Saturdays with an entry fee of 250. The legend associates this temple to the time of great Pandavas . It is said that during exile the Pandavas roamed around in these forests. Here, is also the delightful Pandupol where a cascading spring emerges from hard and compact rocks.

Very interesting history of the fort and still in quite a good shape. However it's inside the tiger reserve and one can not go on its own. Visit has to be requested to Jungle Safari driver and they only can take you there.

Must visit place. A hidden gem in the remotest area of sariska. Dont bring your car here it is too difficult place to reach. If you have a high clearence car then only think to bring it here. It is a 20 km trail with car from neelkanth temple. Going across several village. With a breathtaking view at the end. Take a complete day for this and better reach here in middle of the day. There is a dam behind this place where several animal comes to drink water.

The view is stunning but fort is ill maintained. One visit for the view from its top is worth it if it comes at a reasonable price. Won't pay more than 2000 per family for it though.
