This stepped constitutes the back area of the amer palace. This place is beautiful in itself and well preserved. The well water is not clean. You are not allowed to go down the steps though you can walk on the peripherals and enjoy the monument. If you are driving there, it's better to park a few meters away because this place is located in a narrow lane. Definitely not disability friendly. It's not a place that will take up a lot of your time. You need not buy any tickets to enter this place.

The step wells were built by king which was used as a big bath for the entire kingdom. This magnificent sight has step wells which go down 9 stories. Visitors aren’t allowed access into the well without prior permission, but you can get permission to conduct photo shoot there as well.

The locals over there will tell you stories about how the kingdoms treasures were actually hid right at the bottom of the step wells & how it was found in the last few decades.

Currently they’ve put massive turtles & fish inside the tank & you will be able to see them in the video I’ve posted as well. We visited the step wells on our way to Amber palace, once again you need to take your government approved guide who will charge you ₹400 for this.

It’s a very picturesque spot it’s a definite pit stop you should make. It would be advisable to take a jeep for your trip to Amber & step wells as the terrain is quite rough. I booked our jeep for ₹600 for the entire morning session

Worth a stop if you are in the area. About 5 minutes unless you climb down. Pretty step well with a nice old, abandoned temple across the road.

Free entry, 20mins walk downhill from Amber palace.

Absolutely incredible engineering. It's worth spending 15mins on site.

Read the history online before you go, it's so small that it may not be worth hiring a guide outside of the entrance.

Can’t get down the steps. Just stand and view from the top. If you are going at odd hours the temple attached will be closed and if you are not interested in one of those fancy dress photo shoot it will take less then 10 minutes to see the place. It’s on the way up to the Amer fort. You will not find it on way back as it’s one way drive to the top.
