Municipal corporation should maintain it well and make it an heritage
Located at a distance of 6kms from Ahmednagar city on Ahmednagar-Beed Highway.
Just a request to ASI(Archeological survey of India) and local government of Ahmednagar city, to keep Hatti Barav maintained, try to develop it and make it one of the tourist attractions.
Suggestion : Developing a garden close to it from all 4 sides, with good flowering plants, maintained lawns would add a glamour & highlighting Identity of this rare Well, which has its own significance and records in history & make the site approachable from main road. These upgrades will surely add up to local tourism.
Hatti Barav, a huge, ancient well with a series of picturesque steps cut in a pattern of neat geometric squares leading down to the water from three sides.Locals says that elephants used to go down to drink/fetch water hence the name Hatti(Elephant) Barav(stepwell, water body).
It is a Historical monument, proof of rich heritage of Ahmednagar. Need to preserve as it is with little care of in and around area, will be a tourist spot.
