It's a steep climb. There's nothing much left of the fort to see when you reach the top. The view is good. Preferably treck during early morning hours or evening when it's not too hot.

Gadaikallu is about 8km away from Belthangady. It's better to drive on your own vehicle or hire a cab as the public bus service runs very frequently The best part of this trek is the climb.

The path here is made up of stone steps which are carved out of the granite hill. There is a total of 1876 steps to reach the summit from the base.

It’s categorized as a medium-level trek. It can be quite a long trek so make sure you carry atleast 2-3 litres of water. It would take 2-3 hours to reach the summit.

At the top you can find the remains of the Jamalabad Fort and a beautiful view of the Kudremukh range.

Good place, not much as big fort and some are ruined, climbing steps are different feel. At the top you'll got some good views with peace.

A cool and peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature, Pro tip start hiking early in the morning and end the hike by 4:30pm, after 5:00 it gets really dark! Place on top is a bit polluted with plastics, be responsible and reduce carrying of plastics around this place. Only one bottle of water is allowed per person, carry less junk and more water of traveling in groups.
The place has more than 1200 steps so one will have to pump up their adrenaline to reach the top.

It was a good trek, good enough to make u regret your decision to climb the fort in the middle of the journey. But the view of Kudremukh at the end of the trek is great. None of the google pictures do justice to the actual height and how steep the climb is. After climbing the hill, once the fort wall starts the stairs are spiral in shape, that's why one can't tell the actual no of stairs just by looking at the photos.
Since the trek is a little bit hard, do carry enough amount of water. In my opinion the best time to go is after the monsoon till Dec. During monsoons the stairs could get a little bit dangerous.
While using google map, search for Gadaikallu else the google takes u to a wrong location.

One of the unexplored places in Southern Karnataka which is located in Dakshina Kannada District. It's a huge rock on which the ruins of Tippu fort is present near Belthangady town. The trekk is worth for the mesmerizing view that you get on the top..

Narasimha Gada/Jamalabad Fort/Gadaikallu all refers to one place which would be a best one to trekk for all the beginners. Since it's not much steep or difficulty or slippery..For beginners it would take 75mins to reach the top and again it depends on you how good are you at it..After spending few hours on the top reach back to starting point before sunlight is too much. Take enough and more of water and some snacks to relax as No foods or water will be available at hill top and nearby.. Entry fees was ₹40 per person..

Enjoy the view and stop throwing wastes there as it would spoil the place more.. Completely avoid during rainy seasons since the rock will be very much slippery..

Though maintenance is very much required the beauty of nature will satisfy you very much and would make you feel worth climbing it..

There are approximately 2000 steps and is uneven.. so go with a good shoes. Reaching there early morning would be much preferable..

On the top of the hill, there is a small pond which had blackish water which was not potable. There are also some footprints of horses to see..just search for it..

Happy Journey!
