The path here is made up of stone steps which are carved out of the granite hill. There is a total of 1876 steps to reach the summit from the base.
It’s categorized as a medium-level trek. It can be quite a long trek so make sure you carry atleast 2-3 litres of water. It would take 2-3 hours to reach the summit.
At the top you can find the remains of the Jamalabad Fort and a beautiful view of the Kudremukh range.
The place has more than 1200 steps so one will have to pump up their adrenaline to reach the top.
Since the trek is a little bit hard, do carry enough amount of water. In my opinion the best time to go is after the monsoon till Dec. During monsoons the stairs could get a little bit dangerous.
While using google map, search for Gadaikallu else the google takes u to a wrong location.
Narasimha Gada/Jamalabad Fort/Gadaikallu all refers to one place which would be a best one to trekk for all the beginners. Since it's not much steep or difficulty or slippery..For beginners it would take 75mins to reach the top and again it depends on you how good are you at it..After spending few hours on the top reach back to starting point before sunlight is too much. Take enough and more of water and some snacks to relax as No foods or water will be available at hill top and nearby.. Entry fees was ₹40 per person..
Enjoy the view and stop throwing wastes there as it would spoil the place more.. Completely avoid during rainy seasons since the rock will be very much slippery..
Though maintenance is very much required the beauty of nature will satisfy you very much and would make you feel worth climbing it..
There are approximately 2000 steps and is uneven.. so go with a good shoes. Reaching there early morning would be much preferable..
On the top of the hill, there is a small pond which had blackish water which was not potable. There are also some footprints of horses to see..just search for it..
Happy Journey!
Its good nothing at the top. Just a view thats it.. but good place to burn calories 😂
