Vaitala Deula temple is dedicated to Goddess Chamundi & is located in the Old Town of Bhubaneswar. It is also known as Tini-mundia deula due to the three spires on top of it, which is a very distinct feature of the temple. The three spires are believed to represent the three powers of the Goddess Mother, Chamunda - Mahasaraswati, Mahalakshmi and Mahakali. The presiding deity Chamunda sits on a corpse flanked by a jackal and an owl and is decorated with a garland of skulls. She holds a snake, bow, shield, sword, trident, thunderbolt and an arrow, and is piercing the neck of the demon. The temple is very easy to be missed. It's not as well known as the Lingaraj Temple or Parashurameshwara Temple or Mukteswara Temple. Also, almost adjoining the temple are residential houses. Perhaps, Archaeological Survey of India should strictly enforce it's laws & ensure ancient monuments are protected, & an important aspect to that is to secure the lands in the immediate vicinity of a monument & protecting it from encroachment. Along with other great temples in the Old Town, this temple also has to be promoted.

This is another magnificent temple located in the city of Bhubaneswar. This is one of many temples of Bhubaneswar. This is old and historic too. If you love visiting temples, then this is one of them. The temple is relatively less crowded than the Mukteshwara or Lingaraja temple.

A small but beautiful temple located bang in the middle of a busy street in the city. It's based on a fusion of two architectural styles - Oriya & South Indian - and so looks somewhat different from the other temples in Bhubaneswar. Very few people visit this place because it's located quite off the usual tourist route but it's worth the detour.

'Vaitala Deula or Tinimundia Mandira' one of the few existing 8th Century 'Khakhara' (Cylindrical Roof) Style of Temple Architecture is situated in Old Town, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. This 'Chamunda, Shakti or Charchika' Temple is a testimony to the influence of Dravidian Architecture from the South during the initial phase Kalingan Temple Architecture which later produced some of the finest monuments in the world like The Sun Temple (Konark), The Jagannath Temple, The Lingaraj Temple, Rajrani Temple, Mukteswar Temple & many more.

However, more attention is required for the maintenance of the this rare gem.

Built in the 8th century, making it one of the oldest Hindu shrines in Bhubaneswar, it is again a bit unusual. Its temple tower is slightly pyramidal in shape, rather than cylindrical. This and the three spires on its top take it closer to being a South Indian Dravidian temple like those in Tamil Nadu. The four vertices of its Jagamohana house four smaller temples as well, complete with their Vimana.

It's one of the unique temples in Bhubaneswar that differs from the normal odia temple architecture. The temple which is built in sandstone features some exquisite figures including Mahishamardini, Ardhanariswar, Ganesh and Kartik statues
