KOTTAYAM District Collectorate Office

For the last three weeks the residents of Ward No 18 did not get water through the Public water distribution system. In spite of repeated requests to the concerned authorities, they were not able to solve the problem. Today my wife and the wife of my neighbor collected petitions from the people residing in the area and went to see the District Collector after checking his availability with his office. It seems that the collection of petitions by the District Collector is done mechanically. We will not get even one second to explain our problem. Neither is there an effort from the District Collector's side to listen to the petitioner. There is a police person at the door, pushing people in and out of the Collector' s room. The approach is rude everywhere we look. We will have to wait and see whether any action will be taken at the initiative of the D Collector and our problem will be solved. I wish that the system at the Collector's office for accepting petitions should go for a sea-change. And the attitude of the authorities.

This being the city's primary government office, it houses a lot of departments. While some of the staff are quiet eager to help you, the experience could be weird on most occasions. Navigating the place could be a pain and unless you know the exact location of the office you want to go to, it could be very tough.

As usual, a Government Offices Cluster. Heavy crowd, no body care about the Covid Protocol. RTO Staff was very nice and helpful.

A good percentage of government offices are in the collectorate compound.

Very good, parking space is the simple problem on regular basis

The building is very old but the technical side is developed now compared to the earlier days. During my visits there, almost all the time received good support. Couple of rare cases occurred where I literally wanted to escalate about the public servant to the collector. Some characters there are really horrible who wanted to show off their power sitting in a government chair.

I don't hate this place because collectorate is a government organisation for public and many departments working for public utilities here. Daily many many people are coming here for their own requirements and various benefits. One collectorate is the backbone of each district. Collector and every officials are doing their job for own district as well as our state. So like this place ever.
