Very Busy Place . Passenger Amenities Are Well Maintained. Both Local And Long Distance Trains Are Available From Here. Huge Rush Of Passengers During Office Hours. Public Addressing System Is Also Very Loud And Clear.

Traffic is too much, and the roads are not good at all. Also the bridge is repairing through many years the main cause fro traffic jam.

One of the biggest and important junction station on Sealdah division.Any train from Sealdah and Kolkata station pass from this station.Both Railway and Metro station present parallal.From Dumdum you can get train to Krishnanagar,Bangoan,Gede,Hasnabad, Express train like Jammu Tawi, Sealdah Rajdhani.Passenger train like Lalgola,Rampurhat passenger pass from here.International train like Maitri Express also pass.From Dumdum you can get Kolkata Circular Rail service . Dumdum has 5 platforms..1/3 ,4(rare) for Up and 2,4,5 for down.
