A renowned daku at the then magadha region known as Angulimaal who use to rob people, kill them, cut off their finger and wear it as garlend as sign of tremour and fear among the locals. Its the same cave where he use to hide in the jungle.

Buddhist temple in Shravasti. Briefly explained the story behind the name of the temple is likewise "Aṅgulimāla (Pāli language; lit. 'finger necklace') is an important figure in Buddhism, particularly within the Theravāda tradition. Depicted as a ruthless brigand who completely transforms after a conversion to Buddhism, he is seen as the example par excellence of the redemptive power of the Buddha's teaching and the Buddha's skill as a teacher. The Buddha uses his power and teachings to bring Aṅgulimāla to the right path. Aṅgulimāla becomes a follower of the Buddha, and to the surprise of the king and others, becomes a monk under his guidance." This place is named after the Angulimala monk. Under construction and highly fragile place. Visit but don't enter inside the temple.

Pakki Kuti or Angulimala Stupa was excavated along with other ruins of Shravasti city in the year 1863 and is considered to be one of the largest mounds found in the Mahet area of Shravasti. Fa-Hien, a famous Chinese traveler, Hiuen Tsang, a Chinese Scholar, and Alexander Cunningham (British engineer) identified this renowned tourist attraction in Shravasti as the stupa of Angulimala, while some other scholars believed it to be the ruins of Hall of Law, supposed to have been built by Prasenjit in honour of Lord Buddha.

There is no board that explains what it says. I don’t know if ASI is unsure about this site.
