Take a guide for trekking, it cost us rs 1500 for the guide and we were provided a stick as well. Max altitude we reached upto 10,700 ft. Don't burden yourself with unnecessary items as it will slow you down.
You can either take a mule to go top or trek till there. It's around 3-4km on one side. There's a ropeway which goes to the top till terminal station, it's around 2-2.5km from there. There are various snow activities you can do, like skiing, snow tubing etc. It costs around ₹500 for the combo.
Never felt so peaceful, as much while being here. There is a small village that you can see once you reach the top. You also see a few varieties of flowers. And there is a temple on the trek to Gorson Bugyal. It’s an easy trek, with a beautiful view of mountains and the forest.
Keeping our heart conditions in mind we preferred to take the ponies for some 1200/pony for a total of half an hours stay up there. The path up was very pleasant and through some of the loveliest jungles, we had occasion to be in. On reaching the top there was nothing but there was everything. Complete tranquility, pure air and picture-postcard perfect locales.
The army jawans returning form a trek somewhere behind the next hill added to the mystique of the place.
Stayed there for around 45 of the loveliest minutes of our life.
Don't forget to take everything you could ever want with you, including water bottles, eatables if you want them and anything else you could want because there are no shops or even stalls after you leave the base point of the trek.
