Beautiful scenic place along side krishna river. Visit the famous Sri lalitha someswara Swamy temple complex ( Jyotirlanga temples). It’s a pleasant place with nice river view. You can do boating here. Small food outlets are there which serve Chinese and Indian snacks. Harita hotel is also there which offers meals.

Somasila is a beautiful place for a 1-day/2-day trip (For a 2-day stay, one can stay at the Somasila Harita Resort (now run by private org)
Sri Lalitha Someswara Swamy Temple is a highly revered shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed to have been built during the 7th century. Somasila is a well-known tourist attraction of Mahabubnagar that consists of 15 temples. These temples are dedicated to Lord Shiva and are enshrined with several Shivalingas.
The temple was shifted from old Somasila village to higher altitude to protect it from being submerged in Krishna water during the construction of Srisailam Dam. Its relocation is a marvel in itself. The surroundings are amazing with lot of views.

Far away from crowd. We visited on a Sunday and we could hardly see 2-3 familes. Food is a challenge, but if you go towards the View Point, you will find lot of local food hotels which serves good food. The road from Jadcherla is a smooth drive and we enjoyed our trip. There is boat (launch) ride available (15 mins - adult 50/- childred 30/-) You can pay double if the group agrees and stay in water for 30 mins. That is another amazing experience on Krishna Waters.

Now is the time to go before its highly promoted by tourism (krishna project) and you will see more people visiting.
