Tips: please carry water and torch(preferably head torch) along.
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes with lot of grip as u would have to crawl, sit and walk through narrow passages and would find lot of mud in there.
People who are too fat should avoid going in.
Average physical fitness is required.
Entry fee: Rs 20
Guide fee: nominal Rs 200, but award him handsomely, you would love his skills.
Guide is mandatory as it is a complex cave system.
That being said, they should be doing more to increase the safety of the area. It takes about 500 meters of hike reach the cave entrance, and it is a slippery trail. They should not be allowing access as easy it is now.
The board is very easily missed and we went around for nearly 30 minutes on our motor bikes before we figured it out.
You can only get it about 1 km into the cave but would need a guide. It is recommended not to venture very far inside by yourself. The cave is narrow and is networked so you may get lost.
As no tourist or less visit...this place become unknown or un attractive.
We are the only one ..when we visited ..no other tourist has seen. Benefit of this is...peaceful trek..only nature.
Cave is small ..unable to go under it and along with a waterfall is there.
We hired guides for our caving experience, which is a must. Come with torches and some protection for your knees and hands. Wear sturdy shoes. And carry water if you plan to go in deep.
Our guides were extremely fun and encouraging. Russell, his nephew John and Banhjob (pretty sure I'm misspelling his name). With their help we managed to go on at least 4.5km. I suggest you start early in the day. We reached at around 11 and wrapped up by 4 PM.
This is my first time caving and I absolutely loved the experience. Our jackets came off 2 km in. The exercise gets one all hot and sweaty. You have to crawl your way through at times, that's when gloves and knee pads would have come handy. We had a few scratches and severely muddy clothes by the time we were done. We had water and a bar of chocolate to keep us going. We didn't make it to the waterfall(?)/beach. That's about 19 km into the cave. But the overall experience was a thrilling rush.
I am overweight and lead an inactive lifestyle. But I managed pretty well thanks to encouraging friends and the guides. Except the bits where we saw a baby bat and a large spider. Yeeks!
