Most of the house boats starts from this place. There is enough parking space, easy to locate, but very conjusted Road to reach.

Beautiful Waterway through the so called 'Alleppey Backwaters'. If you're visiting Kerala you must be here at least once. It's not necessary that you've to hire a houseboat for overnight stay. You can easily hire a boat for 3-4 hours under sunlight and then walk along side the water in the evening. At the same time be careful about thousands of worms & insects in this water land.

Quintessential plan you have to have in your itenary if you'r a tourist is spending a day cruising in a houseboat in these backwaters....its somewhat of a defining image when you think of kerala and something you cant do without....Personally i was quite surprised by the level of convenience these boats provide(even the budget ones)....you get a nice deck with great visibilty and wind in your hair(opt for the standard boat rather than the delux ones...as the glass surrounding the deck in those dilutes the experience)....rooms with a/c(which is a neccessity as you wont be able to open windows at when your boat anchors at night due to insects and mosquitoes)....bathrooms so great you wont be able to tell whether youre on a boat or not.....great food made by local cooks on the boat......the experience was quite antonymous to the preconceptions i've had of a boat....made my trip to kerala worthwile....fun fact: Boats cost a minimum of 75 lakhs - 5 crores to make....
