Anchuruli Thuruthu Island

Its a really beautiful place. The 4.5 KM tunnel is really amazing. Can walk a inside the tunnel for some distance but wont really advise to go deep inside as there are no lights and the rocks are really slippery. Also you have to be careful with the holes in the rocks. So people planning to wander deep inside the tunnel shud be really careful with there steps. But its a treat to watch. This is a perfect time to vist the place as there is less water in the tunnel and u can wander through it

Attractive place and Non polluted area. Entering into the water is dangerous because of the mud and steep. Swimming is very difficult in the nonflowing water. People have lost lives over there. So be careful in such cases. More dangerous after the flood. Long beautiful view of the water body. No sign boards or guards. You have to walk after parking in 🌲 woods.....

Very cool and calm place. If it's rainy season then the water keeps gushing out through the tunnel and it's to dangerous. If it's low on water then you can walk through the tunnel. And also the water in the catchment area will be low revealing the small hills which u can walk through..

This island is located near Kanchiyar,, Kattapana. This is one of the emerging tourist spots in Idukki District of Kerala State. From Kanchiyar town, take a right to Forest Station road for 5Kilometres,3 Kilometres vehicle acessable roads available, then by walk through forest for about 2 Kilometres. These 2 Kilometres through forest is very adventurous. The island view is just awesome. It seems like we reached so far away from the hectic world. Anchurili tunnel can be seen from far. It is a catchment area of Idukki Arch Dam in Kanchiyar Village.

Best view of idukki reservoir from Anjuruli. We can also spot the Anjuruli tunnel exit far away. A post wedding photoshoot was in progress when we visited. We have to walk almost 2 km through the forest to reach the destination. Though it looks very beautiful entering the RESERVOIR is very dangerous and not suitable for a visit with family and kids. Area will be fully merged in water during monsoon. Currently entry is restricted (as per the forest sign board at the entrance )due the ongoing forest area buffer zone issues.

Absolutely Fantastic and Mesmerising Experience…This place is best for people who can trek.

Just one request to everyone who wants to go to this amazing place. PLEASE CARRY A WASTE COVER/BAG AND DUMP ALL YOUR TRASH IN FHE BAG, CARRY IT BACK ALONG WITH YOU ON YOUR WAY BACK. As of now, very little but there were covers and plastic bottles around..

Anchuruli Thuruth Island is a beautiful place near Anchuruli Tunnel. You can enjoy the mesmerizing view of idukki reservoir from here. You can reach there by kanchiyar - pezhumkandam road. You have to trek through dense forest about one and a half kilometre. It is not hard trekking you can just simply walk there. The path is not hard, you don't have to climb or jump anywhere. The rocks submerged on the island gives a extra wonderful beauty to the island. But watch out for bird dropping. Entering into the water body is extremely dangerous. You can enjoy the view of Anchuruli hills and other small islands in the reservoir.

Best of my homeland. Being here will calm you down, take you a place where you feel like you belong. A must visit❤
