Vajra Taxi Stand

This stand is the heart of the transportation in Gangtok. The location is good and the views from the stand is really good. You can see the ice hills from this taxi stand when clouds are clear. Mainly you can get taxi to lachung from here through tour agencies. Mainly the price is 1500 per person for one night stay at lachung. You have to push drivers to take you to yumthang valley, really this this way better than katao valley.

vajra taxi stand is mainly famous for the vehicles going to (Lachen, Lachung)North Sikkim and also chhangu lake(East Sikkim). You can enjoy fast food while you wait for your taxi. The view from this stand is also amazing , you can capture good pictures from your DSLR. There is also pay and use toilet which is quite clean. If there is more waiting time you can visit Vajra world a kind of mini mall to watch movies and shop everything you need for travel.

This is the place where you will get private or shared car for North sikkim trip. Located just 1.5km from Gangtok Mg Marg road. You need to get your permit done for North sikkim trip. You can contact any driver or travel agency nearby located at MG Marg. They will help with full package based on your requirements..

It also called Lachung stand or Changu stand. Here shuttle service available for North Sikkim , Gangtok to Mangan. All sharing vehicle available for North Sikkim and Nathula pass. Along with this reserve luxury vehicles like Mahindra Xylo, Toyota Innova can be booked for the same trip. HDFC ATM is there outside of the stand. Toilet is there inside the taxi stand but it's not so clean. Place is bit poluted because of vehicle smoke.

This particular taxi stand is used by both locals and foreigners visiting Gangtok. Foreigners have their own company assigned while locals can ride shared taxis from either of Gangtok, for a cheaper price.
