Unclean and somewhat poorly maintained taxi stand & parking, used by local taxi operators to keep you waiting on the way to North Sikkim and Nathula while they get the permits. There are a few shops and a small "restaurant", but they overcharge and are not very clean. There's a paid toilet too, but that is also not very clean. Only saving grace is that the views of the hills & Gangtok city from the back of the building are amazing. Locally, this place is known as Vajra taxi stand.
Saikat mukherjee
This is a dirty taxi stand and is located near the Vajra Cinema Hall. The local taxi drivers also refer to it as the Vajra Taxi Stand. All the taxis for North Sikkim start from this place. This is a 2-storey building and is not well maintained at all. The second storey where most of the taxis are is very dimly-lit and is not at all traveller friendly. The washrooms are also not properly maintained. There is a small canteen there which is a bit overpriced. The views from the back of the taxi stand are very good on a clear day and must definitely be looked at while waiting for the taxis.

They took 12-13 people in sharing taxi to yumthang valley and this is totally wrong.govt not take any action against local taxi drivers because of monopoly of taxi drivers .they make tourists life in danger.

This stand will be like a kick-start for your trip to North Sikkim. You will get taxis for anywhere in the Sikkim from here. And atlast, remember one thing if you want to travel then try to communicate with the locals. The drivers are very helpful they will try their level best to help you. Don't think that they will try to charge you much. They are also humans. Remember this thing. And enjoy the Land of Hidden Treasure (Sikkim).

Good spot for taking a cab but try to get a smaller one if you want to get to your destination on time and with ease otherwise shared cabs like Sumo, Bolero, or Maxx takes approximately 2 hours to fill and you will not feel much accommodated in those vehicles
