Visiting a highly known restaurant where the owner makes several claims on YouTube proved this proverb absolutely true.
First and foremost the ambience is nothing extraordinary and just for the sake of giving you a feel of a village they have made some cheap sittings ( even villages have fans and it was totally absent here in the scorching weather ...not to mention you need it after some hot spicy food).
We arrived when there were less people and we're surprised to see that others who came after us were served there orders. ( Did I mention that you need to first get coupons and then followup with the staff to accept the coupons. )
Not only us but the other group which came alonwith us literally walked out and were then attended. When we threathned the same , a similar treatment was provided to us.
Oh and you are forced to pay for the botteled water ( which costs ₹60 per bottle ) and not served regular filtered water even if you ask. And literally those bottled water bottles also don't get served till you literally followup. ( One of the attendant was on the verge of giving us a used bottle which was only 3/4th filled ..and on our objection made excuses that he was going to keep the bottle as waste and not serve us).
All this could have been forgiven if the food was as quality oriented as they claimed on their YouTube advertisements. But the mutton was all not tender and quality was the worst that I have eaten. ( Masala preparation was good though). Claims of cooking it like a village on the Chul was also false as they were cooking on gas stoves.
Overall a truly sorry experience and woukd have preferred going to Jai Bhavani instead anytime. Or if someone can suggested any other will visit it next time.
Oh and did I mention, one of us who had visited their Kolhapur main outlet was also having a similar experience.
Do not forget to halt and taste the authentic food in Satara.
There are multiple options of thalis in both chicken and mutton based on the level of spice one likes, i.e.from Alani, Kala, Kharda to Dhangar (spiciest).
The taste is ok, the mutton was really good, chicken was a bit hard maybe due to overcooking. The Alani and Kala Rassa were very good and so was their kharda.
Service can be better as the serving guys are busy chatting within themselves and not proactive, you will have to request for service at times.
