Baba Jateshwarnath Shiva Mandir

This Shiv Temple of Jateswar Mahadev is older than Tarakeswar. Perhaps this temple is the oldest Shiv temple of Hooghly District.Now it is under the control ''Nath Yogis'' Of India.

Near to Mahanad Brahmamoyi Kalibari is Jateswar Shiva Temple which is more than 800 years old and a pilgrim centre for the Natha Cult devotees. Visitors can see many excavated archaeological artefacts and figurines belonging to Gupta era. Mahanad can be approached from Chinsurah the headquarters of Hooghly district, Pandooah and Magra railway stations are not far away.

A very old Lord Shiva's Temple...entrance of the temple is little narrow...a single car can go to n fro... Parking space is also limited in front of the temple...there is enough space in front of the temple but it is under developed.... maintenance program is going in the nat mandir...there is also a Kali temple beside it....Shiv idol is very old n well maintained though I didn't found any priest inside the temple at the time of my visit...

The old temple is famous Shiva temple in Hooghly. Many people comes hear throughout the year. Hindu Festivals related to the Shiva culture are arranged here. In Bengali calendar Boishak and Chaitra month is very important season here. A big numbers of people are coming form different part of district and other areas.

Calm and peaceful place. This is a ancient Shiva temple of the Nath community. A basic accommodation is available in two rooms. Nice place to visit the temple and organic farming in the temple.
