Head Post Office Kozhikode

Located in the heart of the city, Calicut HO serves multitude of services to people, which include mail-despatch/delivery, banking, Insurance, Philatley etc. The HPO premises also has an ATM, cooperative store (retail store) and a recreation club for postal staffs. The staff team is courteous, and hospitable. Being a philatelist, I’m a frequent visitor of the place since over 20 years now.

Many of the times, we were informed by the front office/Desk that, "server is down". Need to wait. !!! Not satisfactory service.

I visited the post office today to send a parcel. I packed the items in a card board box very neatly and nicely. First I approached the counter clerk, she directed me to a man sitting in the parcel department. He told me that the items should be shown to them first and they will pack in their own packing box then only they will accept the parcel. This is first time l am seeing such a practice in any post office. He was very adamant and also doesn't know how to behave with senior citizens. I heard about rude & respect less behavior of postal saff , today I experienced it. Very pathetic behavior in postal department.

My suggestion is that the head of the department/ controller should see how the staff under them are behaving with the people visiting the post office for some service.

Only God can change the attitude of the postal staff.

Finally l went to Profesional Courier and sent the Parcel with out any problem.

This post office is situated is in the heart of the city. Head post office and NSH both are working in the same building. 24×7 booking for articles available here. All other postal services also available here like saving bank, pli, philately etc. Sometimes bcz of slow server you will have to wait for more time. All the services provided to the customers are very cheaper and affordable as compared to other delivery partners.

Very bad experience from the staff. Philatelic bureau staffs are not available there. I came here from Ernakulam for collecting philately things. But nobody there in the PB.

Kind of irritated with the Holier than thou Attitude these people are having. Everytime a registered parcel goes they have a new rule of packing. The same thing when changed and brought next time , they will come up with something else. And if u start explaining anything that they asked they ll say things like " answer only what I asked for " . Sad that government officials are not bothered with work ethics coz they will be anyways paid.
Sadly this is the case in India / Kerala with every government office.
