Currently the entry to waterfall foots are restricted due to recent accident and corona conditions. You can have a look at the waterfall from the distance separated by fences. You are not allowed to enter the water body in these premises. Hydroelectric project building office is nearby and must take prior appointment or permission to enter there.
Presently the water level is low and not much to witness the waterfalls. The area is very good for bird watchings. Some rare species of western ghats are available around here.
There is a small cafe where you can have coffee and snacks. The place is about 30 kms from palakkad.
The waterfalls is barricaded and one can see from a distance only. But in the stream flowing , one can enjoy .
There was no water on the day I went because water is only released there on Sundays.
Rest of the days most of the water will take to power station. Most of visitors visiting on Sunday. There are small streams near the water falls , that is very beautiful.
If you want to visit there, you should go Sunday only.
Note:- nobody can’t get into the water or take bath, it strictly prohibited.
That’s why i have rated with 4 stars
We from Tamil Nadu enjoyed lot at meenwallam water falls. Water flow is 1/4 as compared to the season. But not a disappointing one ..
Though the access to the destination was rough and tough
Children enjoyed a lot
Elders were so thrilled to hear the elephants visit and it's adventurs from Mr. Umar, staff of the forest.
Unbelievable government staffs nice behaviour with tourist people.
Not to be missed spot.
Want to come again during rainy season.
