Good place to get in a trek and get in a workout while taking in an exquisite view. The view is better during the monsoons but this trek should only be done if you are in an adventurous spirit as it's more on the danger side.

Temple is beautiful. Extremely crowded. Ideally visit before 8am. Very basic amenities present. Snacks n multiple eateries present. Entry fee ₹50.A walk of 2km from main gate, but elderly can opt for rickshaw ride. Personal Bikes/ cars allowed at ₹50 per vehicle. Extremely slippery n muddy trail. They need to arrange for some tourist conveniences considering the extreme rush.

Tungareshwar is a must visit place if you are in mumbai or thane anywhere around this... A peaceful area rick feom vasai station to here and from there to temple. Monkeys.. are treat here to watch birds chirping.. and nature just feel this life and where we stay in hell `city` come here with friends and families have fun bring kids lovely in monsoon period..

Best place to visit in mumbai during monsoon. Excellent place for experiencing the beauty & calmness of nature.
Tungareshwar is at Vasai in Thane District.Its not more than an hours journey. Its a spot for temple of God Shankar. There are 2 river streams which you need to cross and few waterfalls on the way which u can enjoy. Its best to visit in rainy season if you are a water lover. It also provides a nice trekking experience as its a up hill climb through lush greenary on both the sides of the muddy road.
