Horrible experiences.

Stayed at March 2019.

Location was very nice with Good view.

Rooms are poorly maintained. Out of 40 hrs stay electricity was not available for more then 18 hrs. Power back up is not available. Water was dirty and not available for all the time. Hot water was not available at all.

Costs for food was very high. Food costs were like 3 stars hotel but quality and quality was not acceptable.

Owner of the property Smt. Suzane behaves rudely with gusts. They even don't have any stuff to serve gusts. Her minor kids serve guest with unprofessional behavior.

She BLACKMAILED us to hire cab from her. We paid Rupees 5000/- for just 40 K.M. distance.

So, Please if you are planning to visit Chhibo avoid Himalayan Egle Resort.

"Himalayan Eagle Resort & Paragliding, Chibo" is a trap. Don't think to go/stay here. Few experiences-
1. Paragliding is just in the name & advertisements, but there is no scope of paragliding there. You have to go to Deolo Park for paragliding.
2. The owner ( lady ), sorry to say, is very shrewd. She will cheat you in each & every chance she'll get. If you want to book a car through her, plz confirm the rate beforehand. Otherwise you will be cheated.
3. Low maintenance.
4. Bed is not king sized, therefore not comfortable for 2A+1C.

Wonderful Stay at Chibbo

Last week (23-25 January, 2021) i went to Chibbo, a beautiful village near Kalimpong, for a short holiday break. Let me tell you i had a wonderful experience staying at Himalayan Eagle Homestay at Chibbo. Its a small homestay with 7 cottages on around 1 acre land. Not much homestays are there in the hills like this one covering so much area. The cottages faced the Mountains and Kanchanjagha can be viewed from all the cottages. The homestay was really well maintained. The owner Susanne herself was looking after all work. The rooms are simple but very clean. The washroom was very clean and the fittings were all modern. Happy to find a geyser. Took a warm bath and then sat on the balcony to view the mountains. The view from the balcony was amazing. It was so fascinating, that any nature lover can spend just hours sitting in the balcony looking at the mountains. I went down to the restaurant to have lunch. Let me tell you. The food taste was amazing. Mostly organic vegetables they used. The fish was so fresh and tasty. After lunch i went for a village walk. After a small walk among the woods and hills, i reached a place at the end of the village, from where i could see the Teesta. I sat there. Enjoyed the river views. A local villager gave me a cup of tea. This hospitality you can only expect in the hills. I came back to the homestay before its dark. I sat on the benches on the lawn to enjoy the sunset. The evening views of the mountains of Sikkim and Darjeeling are simply amazing. I can't explain in words how beautiful it looks in the evening Pin drop silence. The entire ambiance was so beautiful, rejuvenating. After an early dinner i went to sleep. Next two days i went to Tareveer a beautiful place in South Sikkim. When you are at Chibbo please make sure you visit Tareveer. Talk to Susanne or Sudipto and they will tell you how to go there. Its an amazing place. I have been to Sikkim and Darjeeling, but nobody told me about this place. Overall i had a wonderful experience at Himalayan Eagle. Susanne is managing the property very professionally. They have their own vehicle which she uses for pickups and tours. I must tell you this homestay is quite different from the typical ones

Chhibo, a small village about 5 kms from Kalimpong, is nothing less than a heavenly abode. A perfect place to enjoy leisure in the lap of nature, quite literally. Surrounded by several hill ranges, it gives a clear view of the crystal clear river, Teesta. But the magnificent part is the view of the majestic Kanchenjungha.
Himalayan Eagle Resort beautifully merges hospitality with utter peace. Our stay was an absolute bliss. The room was a classic duplex wood furnished room, two beds (one double and one single), spacious, continuous water (hot water) and electricity supply and perfect comforters/duvets enough to beat the chill outside. The room gave a scenic view of the snow capped peaks right from sunrise till sunset and the fog rising from the river water as well, which added to its heavenliness. Just sit in the balcony or wrapped in your blanket in the room and enjoy the beauty of the morning rays lighting up the peaks gradually. Just perfect!
The food was amazing too! Even a simple egg curry tasted like a delicacy. But was we really loved the pork with saag (local leafy vegetable).
Luckily we got to spend the New Year's Eve there. A small bonfire was lit, we happily danced around it and enjoyed our special dinner.
But the enjoyment ends not just here. Being a dog lover, the company of dogs is an extremely happy affair for me. The homestay offered me that as well. The owner has two dogs who are absolutely friendly especially Bruno, who befriended us right after we reached and lovingly accompanied us on all the little treks we undertook on the following days. His presence was like a cherry on top.
Reading "The White Tiger" on a bench, while basking in the winter sun, with Bruno lying on one side of me and the Kanchenjungha on the other, it was my paradise.

Views are good but seems little crowded in terms of local houses around.

Everything's fine, but we've issues with the hot water facilities. There is also a need for better food quality. Otherwise everything is okay. Concerning the beauty of the landscapes of this homestay to good.
