This place is right in the heart of the City. Most financial Clients I met in Chennai had their head office within 10 KM of this hotel. It is an old but well-maintained property. The poolside seating next to the restaurant is a great place to relax. The food served is great. I especially like the Welcome tray made of chocolate that looked like a Boat. The stay was pleasant. I had a few problem with Intercom and wifi, which is not expected from such hotel. Other wise the stay was awesome and highly recommended.

1)Flush not working 😡
2)Mini refrigerators not functioning properly. But they provided another one immediately.🙏
3)Balcony access not provided. 😡
4)Swimming pool, just 4 feet deep 😭
5)The room was good and neat. But if you compare this room with other hotels it is less. 🤯
6) Room service is good😊
7)Located in heart of the city 😍

I really liked the ambience of the hotel. The staff were very polite and behaved professionally. The Restaurant inside was great.

They even have an EV Charger. I am glad that they have that. I was a little skeptical on buying an EV car but by seeing this it's reassuring. I would say this is the best feature of the hotel.

The only thing that I didn't like about the visit was, I went by two wheeler as it was very close by to the place i live. I went to the entrance gate and watchmen stopped me and said to come by a different back entrance. That was a little annoying . I don't get the point of me going via a different entrance just because I had a two wheeler. The entrance I was denied entry is connected to the bike park they could have let me in and showed me the direction.

I can understand it's a 5 star hotel and they might have certain rules. But this rule doesn't make any sense. Just because someone came by a 4 wheeler they can enter the front gate and i have to enter the back gate because I came by 2 wheeler.

The funny part about all this is the car which went in before me when i was denied access was an alto. Come on man my two wheeler costs twice the money than that joke of a car alto .

150 year old property but well maintained. Only went to the all day restaurant and the food was great (South Indian selection). Highly recommended if you care for fine dining options.

After thirty years of coming to visit the old bookshop, Giggles, and to have cold coffee in the Connemara, we were pleased to stay here while visiting relatives in Chennai. The staff work extremely hard and the hotel is comfortable and well looked after. I'm surprised at the "white lotus" snobby comments in some of the reviews that perhaps were made by some of the snobby people who stay here. If you avoid those people who tend to entirely forget the rest of humanity, you will have a great experience. It's a lovely place.

One of the best property in Chennai. Property had the best ambience and peaceful atmosphere . Their breakfast option was “out of the world” with zillions of options and every dish was perfect. If anyone is looking to stay a few days in Chennai and just want to relax, I would highly recommend this property.

It was very nice. We expected it to be much better based on the quality of Taj and the reviews. Room had a weird smell and they didn't do anything after we reported it. Staff are extremely welcoming and friendly.

We stayed at the Connemara for 5 days for a short break, and found the staff very kind and helpful - especially Gopalji, who cleaned our room on the third floor. He was very kind, polite and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and so was the pool. The hotel is full of character and history, although it did look a little tired in places and in need of some TLC. It's based in a great central location.
