Bala Quila

The Alwar Fort, popularly known as the “quila,” is one of the most well-known tourist attractions in Alwar and is about 10 kilometres from the train station. The ironically titled “bala” quila, or young fort, was actually built in 1550 AD by Hasan Khan Mewavati and is the oldest building in the city.

It takes around two hours to traverse the fort, which is 5 km long and 1.5 km wide. It is a popular destination in Alwar.

Timings: 10 am – 5 pm

Siliserh Lake and Palace

One of the top attractions in Alwar is the Siliserh palace, which is situated close to the renowned lake of the same name. This was formerly a royal hunting lodge built by Maharaja Vinay Singh for his lovely bride Shila in 1845. Later, it developed into a complete palace.

The lake provides a lovely picnic area and an opportunity to practise sailing. The palace is now a heritage hotel, making it one of the most significant things to see close to Alwar and one of the top locations in Rajasthan to visit in January for a memorable trip.

Timings: 8 am to 7 pm

Entry Fees: 100

My experience here was a mixed bag.. Property was good but no proper maintenance.
Negative points were:
1. No lift but it was okay as luggage was carried by service boy.
2. Too many mosquitoes but there were repellents.
3. No nearby market or restaurant. So only option to eat is inhouse restaurant.
4. Walls were damp and peeling off.
5. Towels given were very old, better to use as mop instead of rubbing on body.

Good points:
1. Staff was good and helpful.Reported issues were fixed quickly.
2. Reasonable price for standard rooms.
3. Close to alwar station if someone wants to travel by train.

Excellent stay, very nice room, good location, service was very good , owner himself was very particular about the guests experience and cleanliness of the hotel. A must stay if you visit Alwar.
