Not recommend for families but it's good for an economical stay in Hoshangabad. The rooms are medium-sized but cosy. Bedsheets are recommended to change when you check-in. There is no in-house restaurant which makes it compulsory to bring or eat the food from the market. The hotel is nearby to the Halwai chowk where you will find lot of restaurants and shops to eat. Overall, the hotel is recommended for a short work related stay.

The problem with the small places are when you book ..and when you arrives.. The first thing you get to know is no room available.. Same thing happened here when I arrived at 4.30am on 15th june and my booking was from 12pm of 14th June till 12pm of 15th June. So in this situation, there should be a room kept for me as I had already paid. After long heated argument a room was provided on 3rd floor.. Which was untidy.. And very dirty.. After a request, only bedsheets was changed.. I am thankful to god that I just need to spend few hours here.. I Called owner Mr. Akshay saini for telling him about my arrival but no response.. The land-line doesn't work..

Pathetic.. I had done online booking.. But when reached.. I was told.. No rooms.. And after arguments.. They gave a very unclean room with no mugs.. Dirty bedsheets.. The staff is not accepting his mistake..

Hotel Shyam ji is a lesser known but offers great budget accommodation to its travellers. The pace is next to a mini-vegetable market near Halvai Chowk, the prominent place for sweetmeat shops There are several convenient stores nearby. The air-conditioning in rooms is effective. The rooms are well-lit and have direct sunlight. The upholstery and room layout suits one pocket. In order to earn a five-star, it needs an elevator (lift), a good maintenance of common areas and rooms (falling paint of the walls, unswept balconies) and high quality TV sets.

They don't use any chemicals or soap to wash the bathroom or floors to disinfect. Very unhygienic. There is no geyser or hot water available. Blanket is filled with dust when oepned. Rooms are stuffy.
