Rio Rooms

Maybe a place to stay if you want GARBAGE ROOMS for your money. The rooms are extremely small and unclean. The rooms have no ventilation and feels so claustrophobic. The bathrooms are poor in cleanliness,and since they also have no ventilation, reeks of smell of cigarettes. The non AC rooms are a terror to live in, since they are so hot, and you can't even sleep since beds are covered in plastic and the only single window opens to the corridor. The AC rooms are also the same. I haven't seen another hotel serving sheets and towels to guests which are not properly cleaned.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

I was travelling alone for a conference at Calicut medical college, for 2 nights

Pros - 1. It's right opposite the hospital with enough shops and restaurants around
2. WiFi is decent

Cons - 1. Though they claimed to have cleaned the room prior to my arrival, I found cockroaches in my bed
2. No towel, toothbrush or toothpaste, comb, soap, nothing when I arrived. Even the cheapest budget hotels provide few basic things to those staying there.
3. Sign at the Reception said that hot water would only be there from 8-10 am every day. I never received anything of the sort, and when I asked about it, they first said only my room doesn't get hot water piping, then they changed the story to all non-ac rooms don't get (when they realised my room was non AC). All this was said with a big smile on the person's face, no hint of apology.
4. When I checked out, there was no mention of apology and that hot water sign was still up.

This hotels only saving grace is it's location and it's WiFi. Stay here if you're a male travelling alone and willing to put up with minimal provisions.

I have booked one non AC room cost near 1000. The room was nothing good than a godown / garbage. It was a hot pot. No ventilation and fans are like the reels of an award movie. Best thing was, they put a "hollow brick" as a step to enter toilet. Tolilet was smelly and no toiletries provided untill I continuesly called receptionist.
Don't ever book here a non AC room (not sure how is their AC rooms). You can better sleep in the Calicut municipal bus stand inst and of opting a non AC room here.

Small rooms without proper air circulation. Water here is so bad. Very poor rom service.

We can choose this Hotel if anyone is admitted to medical college for treatment.

Wifi is not properly connected
Tv also has issues with remote
Room service is not proper. The car parking area was also not cleaned.

Stayed in AC room for four days. Safe food from Rainbow hotel.

Room is small but ok. Bathroom was clean. AC in good working condition. No much noise, mosquitoes if windows are not opened. Staff behaviour excellent.

Everything is good except a worst receptionist (some middle-aged man). I had a very bad experience with the receptionist on the day of my checkout. If the owner of this hotel is noticing this reply, kindly hire some good interactive receptionist. Only because of this reason, I won't suggest this hotel to others.

They stole my powerbank when I was not there in the room, and then I asked them why they came into my room without my permission and why took my powerbank and they said we came into the room for taking electric kettle, but they entered room without my permission. So whoever looking for a room, do not go this riio, they will enter your room if you are going out and steal something from you. If you are not believing then you will be the next victim..
