Hotel Southgate Shimla /Zafraan

The location and the overall feel of this hotel is amazingly pleasant! Great rooms and even better cleanliness was refreshing. The cafe ambience was good and food was, although expensive, was tasty. Staff and their service was on point and really satisfactory.
Just a suggestion, revision of food costs would do great for everyone!
Recommended for couple/family holidays, would love to visit again!

The rooms are very small and basic, and the food is decent. The service is good. The location is close to the mall road. I stayed one night on a business trip as my hosts mentioned this was one of the last hotels in Shimla to be available as most other hotels were sold out. Which says it all.

wonderful hotel rooms and structures. Located on slopes gives a unique experience of viewing the picturesque mountains from room. Staff is good and hospitable. 24*7 room service.

Booked the place for 2 nights stay, staff is so hospitable, rooms are spacious. Breakfast was included in the stay and to be honest it was perfect to start a day in hills. Entire hotel is maintained, managed and clean. The hotel is just 15min walk to Mall road.

All Main points:
1 - Perfect location to stay, views are serene from balcony, 3km from Mall road which will take 10mins and hotel will provide cabs if you want to go anywhere.
2 - Good taste of mostly all items in buffet breakfast. we had chola bhatura, poha, idli sambar, paratha and nice elaichi flavor tea.
3 - fast room service, prompt response on reception calls.
4 - really nice and cozy bar area known as BRITISH Lounge.
5 - spacious garden area to sit and relax and one good thing is there is dedicated play area if coming with kids.
6 - just wish that rooms could have been just little more spacious other than that everything is great.

Went there for Lunch at 3 pm, waiter told us Tandoor items are not available, so we ordered chilli chicken, Honey chilli potato & corn balls. Every item was pathetic to say least deep fried items even they couldn't fried them properly.... Very disappointed 😞

I have only visited their restaurant a few times, so the review is based on the same only. The menu is a quite elaborate one, with wide variety of delicacies which they are able to prepare most of the times. The quality of food & service is good enough and the prices are a bit on the higher side, yet kind of justified. The place is ideal for friends, families and even group get-together parties. Plus, there's parking space inside the hotel as well.

Absolutely fantastic stay.

Rooms are good, service is rapid and the breakfast is amazing.
If you're in kasumpti this is the place for stay.
