Smart Hill Kalatop, Dalhousie

It was extremely disappointing
If you wish to eat stale pathetic tasteless food u can definitely come here .they will not even give u any toiletry ...they will give u dirty cups to drink your tea ....then the sheets won't get changed if the previous person stayed there ...so imagine sleeping on used sheets .....so if u r thinking to waste your money ...please do come ....otherwise try just visiting kalatop as a sight seeing don't stay at least in this hotel ...coz even the manager won't do anything about it and your money will just get wasted .....and your trip and pleasure will get spoiled not worth the money

We stayed here for a night. It was a comfortable stay. The view from the top room is Nice.. Staff is welcoming and hospitable. My girl needed a moisturizer as her skin was cracking, one of the staff gave us from his personal kit.

The only issue we faced is, it is bit far away from the parking and have to hike down towards the stay. So with luggage, it may get difficult for some to walk back.

Excellent place to enjoy & relax with family. Surrounding atmosphere very good , service given by hotel peoples & hospitality very good. Would love to visit once again.

Overall experience is very nice with beautiful service and forestry experience. Behaviour of all staff is amazing.

The place is located inside a vast ecological park few kilometres ahead of Dalhousie. The park is dense and has beautiful birds and animals. You need to hire a cab to reach from Dalhousie bus stand. The location is beautiful, peaceful and serene. Food options will be basic and limited.
Manager is helpful and good. He has good contacts for best rates of cabs. If you are a walker, khajjiar is nearby. Walking should be done in daytime only.

The hotel is located inside the Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary. Away from the hustle bustle of the crowded Dalhousie town it's a nature lover's paradise! The view of the hills is absolutely breathtaking from here. Those who look out for peaceful vacation can definitely try out this place!

Rooms and the view from the room was amazing but they should provide carpet floor in each rooms(because of freezing temperatures) and they didn't provided warm water which was a huge disappointment.

The hotel is inside the forest, approx 3 km from Lakkad-mandi. The government rest house is also there.
We visited on 6th Jan 2023, There were no tourists there except two of us. Kalatop is a small village of 12-15 families. Most of the families shifted to villages located downhill. Only 2-3 families were there running small dhabas.
The hotel location is perfect. The rooms were ok. Food was expensive.
The best part of visiting Kalatop wildlife sanctuary was the 3 KM trek. Although there is the road for cars till last, due to snowfall road was closed for vehicles.
