Osel Rooms

Decent for an overnight stay. Room was cozy but with only power outlet. Electricity was not available due to power cuts, and therefore no hot shower was available.

Food was quite good - especially the Tirik local sandwich. The staff was polite and courteous.

We stayed here, four people (3adults and 1 child) we were supposed to be given deluxe room on the first day and super deluxe on the second day. The deluxe room offered to us was really very good but let me tell u the first shock was that this hotel doesn't provide non veg meals or any sort of non veg item. So imagine if u stay here, everyone night after traveling and being tired u have to go out in cold to eat out if u wish to have non veg food. Second, their geyser is not providing hot water for most of the times. Only 2 people can bathe using the geyser and then other 2 people has to wait. Now imagine in the morning you have to go somewhere early and half of ur family gets the hot water then u have to wait and then u will get it. They will send balti of hot water but it isn't comfortable because in the cold weather it eventually gets cold. Then the next day when we were supposed to see the super deluxe room, it was charged high but it had no extra amenities. Only the bed was maybe a feet wider. They did not have any charging points near the bed like the previous room, the mirror was smaller than the previous room, only a small table was provided unlike in the previous room there was a bigger table where u can eat, the super deluxe room was even smaller than the previous room. Even today in the morning there was no water after a certain time and i saw guests inquiring about water and they said it would take time. Also a logic that hot water doesn't come in the shower. So if u are uncomfortable bathing in baltis which every other guests use then never ever take this hotel coz I couldn't bathe here for the entire 2 days of stay. Then when we complained to the owner that we don't like the super deluxe room, so either show different room Or we want to cancel. If u notice they have also not provided any cancellation policy and when I asked them the receptionist doesn't know anything. So he didn't allow us to cancel and neither provided us with different room. After all the complaints they said either take the deluxe room that was provided to us in the first day Or take the super deluxe room at the same price as deluxe room. We had to stay there forcefully. The worst kind of hospitality ever provided. Also in entire Himachal or even in entire kaza there were no place where tea is priced at 60rupees for milk tea and 80rs for masala tea. They loot their customers in the name of everything, stay, food, amenities, not worth the money at all. If u have black money go here but otherwise just don't book this hotel ever. There are way better hotels here. And it's better if u come and book hotels in kaza. But never go to osel rooms.

Osel rooms is a very comfortable stay with staff that is very helpful and make u feel very comfortable. It has all the amenities needed to make ur stay warm and enjoyable. The highlight is the restaurant " taste of spiti " which serves food that is very delicious and wud not usually be served at such high altitude.

Indian tourist beware. These guys won't treat you as they treat foreigners. We booked a single 4 bed room for ₹4500/- The owner said we can get breakfast by paying ₹100/head but when we went in the morning for breakfast the manager and owner completely denied. They said that you should have informed last night during check-in that you will eat breakfast.
Dear owner, breakfast hum subah hi mangenge na. Ya raat me hi bol denge ki nashta lao. Pure scam run by this hotel. Mostly foreigners book the hotel so they give service to them only.
A big avoid for Indian tourists.

Very bad hotel . So smelly room. They are only money greedy peoples. Very bad staff.
Never recommend anyone to stay here . Especially couples. Not feel safe here with hotel staff. They have bad looking eyes. Worst experience.

The rooms are clean, very comfortable, and the staff is amazing. The staff go over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Kaza, Spiti valley.

I know this NGO since 2010 and personally have met Ishita many times. They are doing a great job. I have stayed this time in Osel rooms. The location is great the view is wonderful. The rooms are very clean and the bed lining is European style. The hotel is very suitable to foreign travellers when compared to the standard Indian style hotels and rooms. The staff is helpful and the food served in their restaurant is very fine cuisine. I never had such tasty "Pratahas" throughout in India. Compliments to the chef.
