I had a prior booking via Agoda for 2 rooms on 17 and 18 September 2022. Parking was on the road in front for the night we could keep it in a gated ground beside the hotel. The rooms are very old and in a bad state of maintenance, Bathrooms are not clean and up to the mark. People at reception seem to be helpful but it doesn't help much. One thing outright is their food is really good and tasty and that's because their restaurant is quite famous in the area. Here comes my bad experience, I was checking out on 18 September and handed key cards to reception asking them to check the rooms. I asked him how much was the restaurant bill, he looked at the computer and said it was 3165. The reception guy asked me to pay in cash as it was mid of the month and they needed cash. I told him i had no cash with me hence made payment via card, with a doubt in my mind and i asked for restaurant bill's copy, the guy made me wait for 30 minutes and said it will take longer for bills, Since i had to leave i asked him to email me the bills and left, In evening i reached Hyderabad and didn't receive any email, called up hotel Sarovar reception for another guy to answer. After narrating the whole story to multiple people and numerous called one helpful person named Mr.Surya was able to send me images of bills on WhatsApp. To my shock i was overcharged Rs.870 with bills of other rooms. The next 6 days were a struggle for me to call up reception and every other phone number of Sarovar Hotel to get my money back and after 6 days and finally speaking to the MD the issue was resolved and someone from reception called up and credited Rs.861 via UPI. Totally unhappy first experience.
PS: water isn't free they would charge you Rs.30+GST per bottle.

Apparently marriage registration certificate isn't enough for them to give room to married couples, they also need same surname for both.
We pre booked the room via call without being informed about this policy and they denied us room when we reached, stating our surname doesn't match. They also claimed that they send couple's details to police for verification.
When I requested to talk to senior management, two ladies at the reception claimed that they own the property. We were extremely tired and first time visiting Ongole, on top of that, this hotel's policy literally blew our mind.
I don't know if this is how things function here but this is definitely not acceptable to treat tourists this way.

The hotel was fine, the food was excellent, the only issue was we did not get hot water for bathing... Which is kind of a big letdown if you are spending 3.5k for a night

Hotel for staying when visiting Ongole, is a place for delite.

Very spacious room and a massive king size bed.
Food was good.

Only downfall is not having a fully stacked bar.

We booked this 2⭐ hotel for an overnight stay. My experience is meh. Nothing great about it. The rooms have the usual tv, desk. But the real issue here is the bedsheets and the bathroom. Our bedsheets had stains but we were to tired to even complain. The pillows were so hard that I got a headache from it. The bathroom tiles were worn out and had stains. The western commode was outdated. Hot water is a joke. You can waste buckets and buckets of water but the hot water won't come. It can be problematic in winter season. My advice? Don't stay here.

At Ongole you probably won't find too many hotels. So, I didn't really have any choice and had to get this one only. Will summerize my experience:

📌 Location: Behind the Ratnamahal Theatre (Google Map took me in front of the theater and claimed that was the Hotel), but next to main road & lot of shops & eateries around.
📌 Reception: OK (while checking out, I was requested cash, instead of card or UPI/PayTM)
📌 Services: Had an issue with the TV, was promptly addressed. Nice!
📌 In Room Dining: Restricted timings (e.g. evening snacks available after 7:00 PM). But food quality and quantity - both were really nice. 👌
📌 Room:
- Don't expect too much, will be disappointed. Good for a quick night's stay.
- There is only limited plug points in the room (unless you wish to take out the TV)
- Room is spacious, but no carpet
- You get one towel, dental kit
- One bottle of complimentary mineral water
📌 Wash Room: Just about OK. Keep low expectations. Plus side - you do get hot & cold water.
📌 AC: Worked very well 👍
📌 Wi-Fi: Probably available (saw mesh routers), but neither front office informed, nor did I bother.
📌 Breakfast: Again, keep low expectations. If you are OK with Dosa/Idli - you will manage.
📌 Car Parking: Generally they advise to park right in front of the hotel during day and inside gated compound (adjacent to hotel) at night. But they do have a 24/7 guard. So, even Road side should be fine. 🤞
📌Hotel Staff: They appeared friendly, tried their best to help against every request.

Overall: Good food, average stay - OK for one night! For longer stay - perhaps double check your choices.
