Hi! Firstly, it was terrible to know when first doctor told us that my Mummy has cataract(chitta Motiya) in both eyes. Knowing this I started to search for the best possible treatment in Gurdaspur. Google reviews gave me a little idea and I took Mummy to Jyoti Prakash hospital.

Wonderful & cordial Hospital-Administrator (Ms Neetu Marwaha) counselled us without a wrinkle on her forehead. She has a bigger role in explaining different lenses and packages.
Due to financial constraints, it was difficult for me to afford costly lenses but as it was a lifetime lens-transplantation, I chose Alcon Monofocal multi-pieces lens worth rupees 22500/- as per Ms Neetu’s advise.
Then appointment with a great doctor (Dr. Saurabh Puri) was fixed. He checked actual light of Mummy’s eyes and stressed upon earliest operation as cataract was in 3rd stage (in 4th stage, No treatment possible).
Then He asked us to come on Sunday (14 Nov, 2021) for operation.
Around 10-12 patients’ eyes were operated on the same day.
After all paperwork, Staff member took Mummy in the operation room. Operation time was of 15 minutes (approx). Dr. Saurabh used laser-machines for this skilful operation. Mummy felt very little pain and was observing all equipment’s movements at the time of operation. After operation, male-nurse gave an injection & put a bandage on Mummy’s eye. We were given three eye-drops and single pack of ten tablets. And we came back after the operation. No need to be hospitalised.
Next day, Eye bandage was removed & black spectacles were put-on the eyes and Same two doctors Dr. Saurabh and another one checked the eye. It was Good. Now, we are being called for check-up and observing the eyes. Mummy is happy and relaxed now. Her eye is healing and improving.
Good Things of Hospital:
1) Professionalism
2) Cordial & Soft-spoken Staff
3) Doctors are expert and experienced in their work
4) Everything is perfectly managed in the hospital.
5) hospital is constructed like in metro-cities and clean.

Bad things of hospital:
1) Little costly as per backwardness of our city. Some lower middle class and poor people can’t afford the facilities of the hospital.
2) Only new spectacles are available here. We have to wait for some days for repairing the spectacles.
3) lens price is less as compared to doctor’s fees+room rent+miscellaneous charges. These charges can be reduced on humanitarian grounds.

Overall, Jyoti Prakash hospital and doctors are blessings for the Gurdaspur people. Doctors can choose to settle in metropolitan cities very easily but they are serving in our city. A heartful thanks to Doctors and their wonderful staff.

May you All be in Good health with Baba-Nanak’s blessings.
