Booked a night with my family. Idyllic place Poor experience. We took the largest cottage The roof of that cottage was leaky. Ground floor and our clothes in the suitcase got drenched after it rained at 2a at night. We could barely sleep after that and left early in the morning since the damp in the room flared up our allergies. And I suffered a cold for the next few days.
Ashok knew about the leak and still decided to put up the room. What surprised me was that even after I messaged him about the leak with floors and clothes getting drenched, he couldn't be bothered. General hygiene and customer service could be improved

Giving 4 stars coz its a bit expensive and has a bit of plastic waste here and there, could be more strict regarding plastic. But everything else was picture perfect. You can barbecue here bring your own booze (coz beer costs 300 at the homestay, as its far away) and 1200 per head with dinner and breakfast, both of which were amazing, specifically the Black Rice Kheer. Overall, I did give this homestay a 5 star, if they maintain the ecology and remove all the plastic littered here and there. Special mention, the Washrooms were very clean and hygienic for a homestay away from civilization.

Great people, very special place, delicious food, little overpriced.
Place is very basic - detached cold water bath only - but that's part of the charm. Language barrier is apparent, but communication is available via Ashok who organised everything flawlessly.

Stay here for the experience. A wonderful floating stay in the floating Loktak Lake. Accessible only by boat. The hut is basic but more than what you'd ask for in such a place in the middle of the lake. Toilets are common but clean. Food is basic but we got local dinner and usual bread breakfast. The views are fantabulous. The caretakers understand only the local language but they try their best to fulfill the requests. The host was in touch over call and WhatsApp.

Excellent experience to stay on floating cottages. As we got down our vehicle and sat down in small to go to this Aquamarine floating stay lady rowing boat started singing and I realized that this will be something special stay. We stayed on cottages floating on Loktak lake. The view of morning sunrise n fog is stunning.

Best view, great stay for upto 2 days.
The homestay provides a fantastic experience of life on water in a bamboo hut. Winter is the best time to visit and the best activity is to go for boating in the lake, or soak the morning sun on the porch.
The food is basic but delicious, brought to the rooms by the cook herself. They also provide hot water, tea, snacks if asked.
One must be prepared for cold (going down to 8°C in late December), limited electricity, toilet outside of the room that also keeps bobbing on the water!
A great experience nonetheless!
